Nana, the Scarf-Knitting Granny (Japanese: ババーラ Babāra) is one of the ghosts from Luigi's Mansion. She is found in the aptly-named Nana's Room, in the third area of the mansion. When Luigi enters the room, he sees Nana knitting a scarf; he then knocks her nearby yarn balls onto the floor, thus provoking her into floating around the room on her rocking chair. Luigi must suck up the three yarn balls and hit Nana with them to expose her heart to attack, all the while avoiding her needle eye beams. If Luigi misses when trying to hit Nana with the yarn, she cackles and disappears. The only way to make her appear is to exit the room and enter again. She tries to escape with medium pulls but she is unable to defeat Luigi.

When Luigi knocks the balls of yarn onto the floor, Nana is provoked and starts moving around on her rocking chair, shooting beams from her eyes that inflict ten HP of damage. However, if Luigi misses, Nana cackles and disappears; normally, Luigi has to exit then re-enter the room, but in the remake's Boss Rush mode, this restarts the battle.

*Nana is the oldest portrait ghost (that has a known age) in Luigi's Mansion.

*In Nana's diary near the bookshelf, it is written that she once played a prank on Miss Petunia by putting ice in the bathtub she was in. This is a clue to defeating Petunia, as Luigi can later use ice to weaken her.

*Nana's name suggests that she is a grandmother, possibly to Henry and Orville, as she owns the key to their room.

**Thus, she is probably Neville's mother, as their names in Japanese are alike (Neville: パパーラ Papāra, Nana: ババーラ Babāra). In English, both names start with "N".

*Curiously, both Neville and Nana are in the second floor (reinforcing the idea that she belongs to the "2F family") and use rocking chairs.

*Oddly, Nana is the only portrait ghost that has a blurry representation of herself on her gold frame. This is in reference to famous painting "Scream"

*There is a painting on the right wall of the Parlor in that resembles Nana, possibly depicting her when she was alive.
