Jungle Hut is the native home of the tree-dwelling [[Spike (enemy)|Spike]]s. They own the huts, and attack anybody who intrudes. [[Baby Bowser]] offered to fortify the huts with his Shy Guy minions if the Spikes affiliated themselves with the baby king.{{refneeded}} As such, Shy Guys guard many of the huts. The other huts are guarded by killer [[Bee]]s, [[Chain Chomp|Chomps]], and [[Spider (Yoshi's Story)|Spiders]].

The huts sit atop catwalks suspended in the trees, much like those in the world of [[Donkey Kong]]. Due to being in such an area, the Spikes are constantly pestered by bees and giant spiders.
