Spiky Joe is a Red Spike Top that seen only in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. He is a major-league fighter of the Glitz Pit. Spiky Joe can be seen in the major league locker room allowing Mario and his partner to talk to him. His team is called the Tiny Spinies; They are the first major-league enemies that Mario faces once he is a major-leaguer. Spiky Joe was one of only two nice major-leaguers of the game, (the only other being Hamma Jamma). Although Spiky Joe lost to "The Great Gonzales", he does not hate him; He merely swears to train more and get better one day.

- This is the only named Buzzy Beetle species Mario fights in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
- Spiky Joe is the equivalent of Chan from the original Paper Mario.
