UNO Super Mario is a variant of the card game UNO themed to the Super Mario franchise. It was released in 2016 by Mattel.[1] This special deck has cards with hand-drawn artwork of Super Mario characters, as well as two additional card types.

Cards[edit]

The deck consists of 112 cards. 108 cards are the ones found in the standard UNO deck, while four cards are particular to the UNO Super Mario deck and consist of two Invincible Mario cards and two White Mario cards.

Invincible Mario card[edit]

The Invincible Mario card, if played after a Draw 2 or Wild Draw 4 card, forces the player who used either said card to draw respectively two or four cards. The player who uses the Invincible Mario card must then declare the new color to be matched and pass the turn. The card can be played even if the player has cards of the color to be matched, and if it is obtained as the first discarded card, the player to the left of the dealer must declare the starting color. The card is worth 50 points at the end of a hand.

White Mario card[edit]

The White Mario card has custom effects that are decided by the players before the hand starts and written on the card. When the card is played, said effects happen and the player also chooses the next color to be matched. The card can be played even if the player has cards of the color to be matched, and if it is obtained as the first discarded card, the player to the left of the dealer must declare the starting color. The card is worth 50 points at the end of a hand.
