Each player is given a blowgun; by pressing {{button|gcn|A}} and {{button|gcn|B}} simultaneously, the characters can shoot their blowguns as fast as they can to pop their opponents' balloons. The first player to pop all 30 of their adversary's balloons wins.

Merry Poppings is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 5.

Overview

This is what happens to the loser in Merry Poppings.
Wario losing the minigame

Both players are in the sky, held by balloons, and they use their blowgun to try and pop every balloon of their opponent before time is up. The player who destroys all 30 of their opponent's balloons wins. If neither fulfills the objective by five minutes, it is a draw.
