The Bob-omb Capsule first appeared in Mario Party 5, where it could be thrown to a space on the board, or used on the player for free (but would be considered a grave mistake). It's effect was activated after a players have passed (or landed on) the space containing the capsule three times. On the third, a Bob-omb landed in the player's arms and exploded, causing him/her to lose twenty coins. If another player was standing on the space, they too would lose twenty coins. In Mario Party 6, it became the Bob-omb Orb. Players could only place it on a space as a roadblock. Opponents that passed a space containing the orb made a Bob-omb explode on them, cutting the remaining number of spaces they could go in half. In Mario Party 7, it returned as an Orb that could only be found on the gameboard Pagoda Peak. Opponents that passed this space made a Bob-omb blow up on them, sending them down to a lower part of the board.

Bob-omb Orb from Mario Party 6
A Bob-omb Orb from Mario Party 6

A Bob-omb Orb (originally called a Bob-omb Capsule) is an Orb in Mario Party 5, Mario Party 6, and Mario Party 7.

History[edit]

Mario Party 5[edit]

The Bob-omb Capsule is one of the Orbs usable on the player for free in Mario Party 5, but like other Orbs, it can also be thrown on a space nearby. When a player crosses the Bob-omb Capsule space three times, they lose twenty coins.

Mario Party 6[edit]

The Bob-omb Orb works differently in Mario Party 6, because when it is passed a few times, the player's number of remaining spaces is reduced by half, unless they are using the Metal Mushroom Orb.

Mario Party 7[edit]

Bob-omb Orbs work differently again in Mario Party 7. They are found only on Pagoda Peak and cause the player to fall lower onto the board.
