HAMSTER Corporation, also known as simply HAMSTER, is a Japanese game company that was spun off from the video game division of Toshiba-EMI Limited on November 11, 1999. The company developed a series of emulated arcade video game re-releases under the name Arcade Archives starting in 2014 for the PlayStation 4.[1] The series would be introduced to the Nintendo Switch eShop on March 3, 2017. Nintendo first announced several re-releases of various Nintendo arcade games in the September 13, 2017 Nintendo Direct.[2] Various arcade games have been re-released in the series, including various arcade games of the Super Mario franchise exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
