Mud Troopers are zombie-like enemies in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and its Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS ports. They have yellow eyes, blue hair, red shoes, and tan bodies. When they see Captain Toad or Toadette, they will materialize out of nowhere and will slowly chase after them and make a distinct noise. Mud Troopers often appear in groups.
They can be defeated by either, landing on them, throwing a turnip at them, or using a Super Pickax on them. Players can also trick Chargin' Chucks and Flaptors into eliminating Mud Troopers when they attack. Staring at one long enough with a turned-on headlamp can temporarily disable them into a puddle; however, the puddle will soon reform back into a Mud Trooper.
