Jr.'s Jauntlet
Minigame
Appears in Super Mario Party Jamboree
Type Showdown minigame

Jr.'s Jauntlet is a Showdown minigame in Super Mario Party Jamboree. It is centered around Bowser Jr., and has four players complete a series of waves, most of which involve avoiding enemies, to earn points.

Introduction

The players look around aimlessly as Bowser Jr. flies onto the screen in his Junior Clown Car. Bowser Jr. laughs and pushes a couple buttons on a remote he is holding, causing the floor of the minigame arena to turn on and surprise the players. Bowser Jr. then flies towards the players and summons various enemies.

Gameplay

In this minigame, four players must avoid ten bite-sized waves of enemy attacks, most of them lasting for five seconds. Players earn a point for each wave they manage to not get hit during, and said waves may include:

  • Biddybuds strolling in a rectangular pattern.
  • A pair of Fire Bros throwing Fireballs at the players.
  • A Chain Chomp bouncing around the arena, like the Chain Chomp event in Bowser's Block Battle.
  • Two Spike Balls rolling around the arena.
  • Several Bullet Bills flying in diagonal directions.
  • Four Amps descending in the center, then moving to different corners to create a shockwave in the middle.
  • Four chickens, who must be caught by the players, appearing in the arena.
  • Six Grrrols appearing from the sides.
  • Several Chargin' Chucks rushing on all sides.
  • Two Spike Bars appearing on the top left and bottom right each, for four total.
  • Six Broozers charging, three on each side.
  • Four sets of Fuzzies appearing from all sides, then curving around to leave again.
  • A pair of Hammer Bros raining hammers down on the arena.
  • Several Fruits falling on the arena, with players required to collect a specific one (grapes, bananas, etc.)
  • Numerous Bob-ombs falling on the arena, ready to explode.
  • Several Thwomps falling onto the arena.
  • Several Peepas moving in a circle, similar to the minigame Horror Harriers.
  • Four Toadies catching the players. The players need to mash Single Joy-Con Right Button to escape the Toadies.
  • A Shy Guy with five balloons appearing randomly in the arena. This event is unique from the others in that one point is awarded for each balloon popped.

The tenth and final wave is unique, as it involves Bowser Jr. himself. In this wave, he will use his Koopa Clown Car's mechanical boxing gloves to damage the players, who have twenty seconds to avoid him. Players who survive the wave are awarded three points.

In Party Mode, the player who encountered Bowser Jr. on the board receives three points at the start as an advantage.

The player with the most points at the end wins the minigame and receives Bowser Jr. as a Jamboree Buddy.
