Rowing - Quadruple Sculls is a Boat Games Event that appears exclusively in the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The objective of this event is to row to end of the course in the fastest time possible. The starting world and Olympic record for this event is 5:36.20. This event does not appear at any point in the game's story mode.

Gameplay[edit]

In this event, the player plays as the whole team of heroes who compete in one boat against three other teams made up of yellow, green and blue Shy Guys. The event starts on the final 100m of the event, with the timer already at 5:00.00. The boat constantly slowly moves automatically, however the player is able to increase the speed by rowing by pulling the system in towards them, with the timing of their pull giving them varying levels of speed boost. The player must pull inwards at the end of the countdown when the word "Row" appears onscreen, with the speed of the countdown increasing during the final sprint. The player's rank of the timing of their pull is given afterwards, ranking from perfect to great, good and bad, each with decreasing levels of speed boost, while failing to pull in at all will cause the row to be entirely missed and skipped straight over to the next one. The player is also told whether their row timing was too early or too late if it was not perfect.

Controls[edit]

Hold the system vertically!
1) Row: Pull the system toward you.
In Multiplayer, only one player can see the command to row.

Medley Match[edit]

In Medley Match mode, Rowing Quadruple Sculls appears as the first event of 4P Co-op Medley 1 and the second event of 4P Co-op Rhythm Medley 1.
