Trial Stew is an item in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Paper Mario, made by cooking Couple's Cake with a Poison Mushroom. In both the original Japanese version and the Nintendo Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, a Trial Stew can also be made by cooking a Thunder Bolt with a Thunder Rage. If used, it lowers Mario and his partner to one HP and down to zero FP, but completely fills Star Power and triples how much is gained for a while. Unlike other recipes, its in-game description is written sarcastically, describing it as "amazing" and its results "incredible," without noting that some of said effects are negative.
