Bird Nests in the Super Mario franchise are spawn points for various Nitpicker derivatives in Donkey Kong and Mario vs. Donkey Kong. There are no opportunities when Mario gets to interact with them.

History

Donkey Kong (Game Boy)

Bird Nest (compressed)

In the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong, Bird Nests spawn Hawks in the Forest and Rocky-Valley, Kaibādo in the Jungle, and the crow-like Birds from Donkey Kong Jr. in the Tower.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong

Nests spawn birds in Mario vs. Donkey Kong, where they first appear in the second world, Donkey Kong Jungle. In the third world, Fire Mountain, they are replaced by Fire Bird Nests as spawn points for fire birds; unlike the regular nests, these fire rings can damage the player character upon contact.

Bats similarly emerge from overhead Bat Nests.
