The resident demon is a large skeletal demon- or ghost-like Kremling in Donkey Kong 64. Unlike most other Kremlings, the resident demon has no "K" in its name. It can be found in the Haunted Mine Cart Run in the area, Creepy Castle. Donkey Kong is the only Kong who ever encounters the resident demon. The resident demon attacks with its disembodied claws, and if Donkey Kong is hit by them, he loses some of the coins he collected. The resident demon is invulnerable, and Donkey Kong can avoid its slashes and punches by jumping between rail tracks. Eventually, when Donkey Kong makes it to a section of the track with three parallel rails, the resident demon launches several explosive flaming skulls, which cause Donkey Kong to lose three coins if he is hit.
