Cractus is the second boss in the Game Boy Advance game Wario Land 4. Cractus is also the guardian of the Emerald Passage. It is a large, drooling Venus Flytrap with leaf-like appendages. If Wario touches Cractus' drool, the portly anti-hero will turn into Zombie Wario, wasting precious time. He can't attack Cractus while in this form. Hotaru will enter the battle whenever this happens; touching it will return Wario to his normal form. Cractus can also attack by jabbing at Wario with its arms, and mere contact with the boss's toothed, gaping mouth will cause damage. To defeat Cractus, Wario has to use the vines along the wall and ground pound the monster's head from above. After enough hits, Cractus is defeated and Wario is rewarded with the creature's Crown. Aside from the Emerald Passage, Cractus appears in one of the flashbacks, chasing Wario through the forest.
Time given in different modes
The time given to defeat the boss varies on the game mode.
- File:WL4-Normal Mode Sprite.PNG: the time given is 4:00 minutes.
- File:WL4-Hard Mode Sprite.PNG: the time given is 3:00 minutes.
- File:WL4-S-Hard Mode Sprite.PNG (unlockable): the time given is 2:00 minutes.
Super Mario-Kun
Cractus also makes an appearance as a boss in the Wario Land 4 arc of volume 28 of Super Mario-Kun. Wario sees the boss's crown, but he then notices Cractus sleeping next to it. Wario attempts to grab the crown, but the boss awakens and snaps it from Wario and then attacks him. After it drools on Wario, Wario becomes Zombie Wario. Cractus continues attacking Wario. Wario throws Arewo Shitain-hakase and causes light to shine on Wario, reverting him to normal. When Wario attacks Cractus by ground-pounding, Arewo Shitain-hakase throws fruit at him, transforming Wario into Fat Wario. Fat Wario then falls into Cractus's gaping mouth, crushing and defeating it.
