Good job on the upload, but remember to remove any parts you don't fill in, instead of leaving them there. JLuigi.pngJ-Luigi (talk) 21:39, 1 July 2016 (EDT)

Creating new articles[edit]

Hello. When creating new articles, if there is a game identifier in the title such as "World 1 (Mario Party: Star Rush)", the following code may be used to italicize part of the title so it is consistent with the in-article text:

World 1 (Mario Party: Star Rush)

Also, please remember to add navigation templates and categories on the very last lines of the article. For example, your Star Rush world articles could use this code at the end:

BoxTop

Also, a brief explanation of the layouts of each map would be a good improvement to the articles. Thanks for reading, and keep contributing.

To add onto this, we make individual level articles like World 1-1, World 8-2, and so on. The same thing applies to Mario Party: Star Rush. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 13:48, 6 November 2016 (EST)

"You"s[edit]

On articles, avoid using the word "you". We write in third-person, so "the player" or the character's name must be used instead. Thanks. Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 00:10, 5 February 2019 (EST)

Regional spelling[edit]

Hi, we use American English on this wiki for consistency, so use "colors," not "colours." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:35, 15 February 2019 (EST)

Missing games[edit]

Hello, Stopdoor. I'm user Lord Falafel. I have information regarding obscure Mario games, donkey kong games and a Tetris game that are missing from the list of games organized by system. I was hoping you'd help me add them since I'm unable to. I joined the super Mario wiki today and I don't intend to vandalize the wiki. I just want to have a nice, friendly discussion with you and tell you all the games that are missing. I organized them all into separate categories on my phone. I read the terms of service for the wiki, how they talk about not spamming or swearing excessively or advertising non Mario wiki stuff or fighting with other users and if they did, they'd get a kick or a ban. I don't want to do that. And I hope I don't come off as a troll. I just want to help the wiki cover missing titles. I really want to be of service. I hope there isn't another user named Lord Falafel out there. I'm not trying to pretend to be anyone else. I just want these games on the list. If you receive this message, please let me know if you're interested in adding the games. Lord Falafel (talk) 13:14, May 14, 2019 (EDT)

Image categories[edit]

Hello, Stopdoor. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

or

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

The uncategorized part in the summary when you upload must be replaced with an image category. For Super Mario Party images, it should be replaced with: Please remember this for future uploads.
