The 'Shroom:Issue XCVI/Pipe Plaza
Director’s NotesGood day to you ‘Shroom readers. Welcome to Pipe Plaza, here we will handle all of your statistics and other wiki-related things. Unfortunately, we do not extend this service to pipes. As you may be aware a new section debuted last month, and this month the new writer for it, Lumastar (talk) is debuting, make sure to give him a warm welcome. We also have Lakituthequick (talk) as our new Anniversary Announcements writer. Let’s hope that Pipe Plaza can continue to expand! If you wish to join Pipe Plaza, look over here, pick a section you think you could do, so long as someone doesn’t already write for it, and PM me here. Section of the MonthLast month we had a voting increase, so let’s keep that trend going. Six of you folk voted, and three of you voted for New Articles written by myself to be SoTM. FunkyK38 (talk) came in second with two votes and Driftmaster130 (talk) got the final vote for a third place finish. Community Report (Driftmaster130 (talk))Hey folks, this is Driftmaster130, here with the LUCKY (:v) March issue of Community Report. Again, no significant changes in policy, so let's move onto the recently passed proposals: (credit to YoshiKong for previously developing this coded table system)
The TPP's currently in progress:

Tip of the Month (FunkyK38 (talk))Templates can be tricky to use, especially for character boxes. Get one character wrong and the whole thing turns into a mess. I would definitely recommend that preview button, and also having a separate tab open to make sure your finished template codes just like the original, only with the information you needed to put in it. New Articles (Lumastar (talk))It's Party Time! Welcome to this month's issue of New Articles. I am your new writer, Lumastar (or Luma for short). Before we begin, I might as well give a short introduction. I joined last June, I am on the forums, and I am a member of the Poll Committee, which handles the polls that appear on the wiki's main page. Anniversary Announcements (Lakituthequick (talk))I hear you thinking, "Anniversary Announcements? But it's March!" And you are right, it is! But the Awards Committee is already busy To quickly recap on what this section does, Anniversary Announcements serves to inform you about the behind-the-scenes developments that drive the Awards. This involves everything from changes in the Awards and nominees to tournaments and prizes. We already were busy in February, discussing necessities about Favorite Portrait Ghost, SM64/SMS/SM3DW Level, and Galaxy, with more new and more relevant things available to choose from. Also, Favorite Game has been discussed to be split in two, Classic and New. Where exactly the border will be is not entirely sure yet, it is either around the year 2000 or systems of around that period. For tournaments, ideas have popped up for Pokémon, Team Fortress 2, Yu-Gi-Oh, Minecraft, Super Smash Bros. 4 and Mario Kart 8. Mafia and new concepts on other things have also been mentioned. Nothing is finalized yet on that department. During the first meeting we have mainly discussed the Mario Awards, details can be found in the table below. The most notable things are the removal of Favorite Luigi Game and Rosalina's upgrade from Supporting to Major Character. Also, a heated discussion arose about the identity of Toad. You can find full logs here, and the complete list of Awards right here (undiscussed Awards are marked beige).
The second meeting started with Galaxy. Most notable are the change of A14, from Favorite Enemy to Favorite Species, and the addition of Super Smash Bros. 4 newcomers to A19. Also unlike previous meeting, Smasher's (talk • boards) Internet didn't die.
The Userpedia Staff has started discussing their respective Awards over at their forum. And that's all folks! Until next month, keep that Control Stick smokin'! Or that Touch Screen. All information above is correct as of 18 March. |
