Those categories...[edit]
Hi there. I saw one of the edits in those mini-game articles recently, and I think you might want to read this: Talk:Main Page/Archive 21#Categories. Look, I appreciate some of the work you are trying to do but having the in those Mario Party (from the first game to the lastest game) mini-game articles isn't working out. You see, In Mini-games category, there is litterally a mix of Mario Party mini-games from 1 throught 8, Advance version, and DS, and the other mini-games like Card-e Cards from the WarioWare series (particularly WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!) We have a separate category like Category:Mario Party mini-games so we can organize it properly and avoid having mini-games that didn't appear in that particular game. RAP... I was writing this before you posted... ;o
Reminder[edit]

Eriko Ibe[edit]
I know this is late, but why did you revert Ibe's page to say she did Baby Bowser when you know she didn't. Tomoko Maruno isn't an alias of Eriko Ibe nor is it the other way around. Mario Kart 64 credited people by their real names, and even you have to agree that the announcer voice - one that previously did not exist at all - couldn't simply go uncredited. Eriko Ibe is the announcer for Mario Party and nothing else; she's credited in Mario Party 1, 2 and 3 (the last under Special Thanks) and nothing else.

Subpage[edit]
Hi, this doesn't serve the wiki in any way so as per policy I'm afraid you're going to have to delete it. If you want you could join the forum where you could post things like that. Yoshi876 (talk)
"I hate those things"[edit]
Regardless of your personal opinion on putting links in quotes, doing it is a standard that has been in place for quite some time. If you don't like the practice, I'd recommend making a proposal about it. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
Moving files[edit]
Hi. When you move a file please remember to update the file names on pages that use the images and tag the redirect for deletion. Yoshi876 (talk)
Reminder[edit]
Please stop not updating files names or tagging redirect for deletion after moving a file on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Like I said previously, when you move a file you have to update pages that use that image so they have the new file name as well as tagging the file redirect for deletion. Yoshi876 (talk)
Alseides[edit]
Hi. Why do you share IP information with RickTommy (talk)? It is alright if you have forgotten your original password, but I need to know. Yoshi876 (talk)
New Articles[edit]
Don't create articles that are stubs. These articles that are missing information, like the two you created, and this is against our rules. When you create an article make sure that all relevant information is there, if you need help just look at similar articles to see how they should look. Yoshi876 (talk)
Mario Golf credits[edit]
Jessica Chisum's page on Topo Swope Talent says she was the voice of Princess Peach (and Plum) in Mario Golf 64. She is credited in the game; what makes you think it was an "error on her part" as you say? ILoveTheChainChompSound (talk)
Spam[edit]
Please stop spamming on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. Spamming is unacceptable regardless of the date. Please do not do something like this again. - Walkazo 00:03, 1 April 2015 (EDT)
Last Warning[edit]
This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki. If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Creating the account Alseides counts as creating a sockpuppet which is not allowed on the wiki under any circumstances, even if you intend to "start over". If you still desire to use the name you may go here to do so. Yoshi876 (talk)
Jen Taylor[edit]
This actress has never been confirmed to voice Daisy past Mario Party 3. If you want to try to contact her to find out, that would be good, but saying she voiced Daisy in MP4 and 5 is speculatory, and not allowed. UhHuhAlrightDaisy (talk) 20:54, 5 June 2015 (EDT)
re:Little Questions[edit]
I still have 20 minutes to go before 2017, but what the hell. Happy new year!
To answer your questions:
1: It's a corruption of "qui craint", which usually just means "[something] that sucks" but can also be used to mean something that feel dangerous/creepy/foreboding, etc.
2: Yeah, sure. I like doing that.
3: I looked at the first two pages listed and a complete rewrite would be needed to brin them to a presentable standard. Not being familiar in Homestar Runner, I'll pass, sorry. --Glowsquid (talk) 23:41, 31 December 2016 (EST)
File Moves[edit]
Tag redirects with delete and make adjustments to the pages referencing the old file name. File redirects are undesirable. I did so with your two recent moves. There is one redirect that needs a 'Shroom writer to edit. Consider this next time before you move files. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 21:38, 6 March 2017 (EST)
- Do so with the redirects for this as well. I just changed them after I moved it, you can do the same, there's only like 5 pages and one template that link to it. Protip: Change the one on the template first. Then the other pages on the template won't clog the "what links here" section. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:58, 11 February 2018 (EST)
End punctuation and quotes[edit]
End punctuation, such as commas, periods, semicolons, exclamation points, and question marks, goes inside of quotes, not outside, according to current rules of American English, which is what this wiki is based off of. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 05:03, 9 May 2018 (EDT)
Music lists[edit]
For future Mario Party music list pages, please remember to add List of Mario Party X music
at the top, and make Category:Lists sort the page by its game title (
) and its game category by the asterisk (
). Other than that, great work! Mario JC 08:19, 11 May 2018 (EDT)
image[edit]
When there is one image or more in a article, but more are needed, please use more images (Rather than image). Thanks! Yoshi Egg 1990 23:15, 19 July 2018 (EDT)
"Most English-speakers don't care about that"[edit]
By using the same manner of logical fallacy, I can assert that most people wouldn't call them a "Yoonagi." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:52, 25 October 2018 (EDT)
"How does a lowly fan know a Nintendo employee's e-mail address"[edit]
You are aware that our names for the Virtual Boy Wario Land bosses came from a customer service e-mail, right? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:39, 11 November 2018 (EST)
New Informal Reminder[edit]
Hey, you might want to make some of your edits as minor by checking the "This is a minor edit" button found at the bottom-left corner of the page. The button "This is a minor edit" is there for a reason. Mari0fan100 (talk) 09:55, 4 February 2019 (EST)
Those are Real Quotes[edit]
Dude, that edit you made was reverted, and for a good reason, too. Bowser Jr.'s, Dr. Mario's, and Daisy's quotes are legitimate, and should thus, be included. While "Whoa!" and "Yahoo!" are indeed exclamations, they still count as words, so no one can deny them being quotes. The same applies to Daisy's quotes; "No!", "Yes!", "Yeah!", "Ow!", and "Ouch!" are all technically words, so they should count as quotes. Dr. Mario saying "Oh yeah... HEEYAAH!" is also a quote, because he says two real words right before making some interesting noise. Even then, "Hiya!" and its derivatives have come to be recognized as actual quotes, due to them prominently being present in television series, movies, videogames, and literature alike. One may shrug these off as nonsensical noises and remove them from any quotes page, but hey, there's no need to do that. Just giving a heads-up. MarioManiac1981 (talk) 17:23, 9 February 2019 (EST)
Mama Luigi[edit]
Hello, regarding your recent edit there is no need to italicize or bold when Luigi says Mama Luigi. Thanks! Doomhiker (talk) 07:38, 24 February 2019 (EST)
Articles featured on the main page[edit]
Hi, regarding your changes to the Featured template, please edit the actual article in question before moving to edit the Featured template. Thanks! (T|C) 00:03, March 16, 2019 (EDT)
Comments[edit]
Please don't edit other users' comments, even if there are grammatical errors, thanks. Mario JC 04:39, April 1, 2019 (EDT)
- You edited my comment on the Featured article template page, even though you were already reminded not to edit other users' comments. There are consequences if you keep on ignoring this reminder. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 22:23, June 23, 2019 (EDT)
Spike the Piranha[edit]
Why did you move Spike the Piranha (character)? There are both a character and a level with that name, and both have equal priority. Scrooge200 (talk) 19:32, April 3, 2019 (EDT)
Quotes[edit]
Hi, I know this is somewhat old, but please don't alter quotes at the top of pages unless it's swapping one quote out for a new one (and even then only if other users agree upon it). Something like "AY-O! What're you [Mario] doing bringing hazardous materials aboard?! You just better make sure [theBob-omb Buddy] stays calm! I don't want an angry Bob-omb on [Starship Mario]!" just looks unprofessional, and also counts as a loss of information, especially if it's a character speaking in a dialect other than Standard English. Please keep this in mind for the future, otherwise you may start seeing Reminders. Thanks! (T|C) 18:22, April 9, 2019 (EDT)
RE: Two things[edit]
The information is not redundant for the reasons the others have provided on the talk page (especially Doc's). Other pages like Dash Panel have had varying capitalisations and we take note of them.
The FA template should have the first 4-6 lines of information from the article. Basically it should just be a sample of the page but there's no rule that it can't be modified slightly if necessary, like removing alternative names (say the aforementioned Dash Panel was a FA; listing all of the alternative names would be a little ridiculous). Mario JC 07:30, May 10, 2019 (EDT)
RE: Poll[edit]
You'd need to contact The Pyro Guy (talk) or another member of the Poll Committee about that. Mario JC 00:00, June 7, 2019 (EDT)
I'm aware of that, but you shouldn't simply edit archived material especially without at least getting approval from the committee first. How it was at the time should be left as it is anyway and shouldn't be modified, something you were already told about once already. It's the same as editing someone's comment. Mario JC 01:13, August 7, 2019 (EDT)
RE: Two more things[edit]
- This is something you should get consensus for on the talk page, not an admin request.
- It appears so. I didn't know about this until just now.
Mario JC 00:27, July 15, 2019 (EDT)
Paper Mario bestiary[edit]
"6 points worth of damage" is correct spelling. Stop changing this back or you could be in for harsher consequences... – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 11:40, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
- Actually, never mind. I didn't know better after the above message and the edit reversion, only looked at that link after reverting that edit. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 12:47, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America[edit]
Pretty sure the reason other books are covered is because they have the official seal of approval on the back. Does this book have it? (T|C) 09:11, July 22, 2019 (EDT)
? Block[edit]
Maker pronounces it "question mark block." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:37, July 27, 2019 (EDT)
RE: Yet two more things[edit]
- I'd prefer if the name be written out rather than simply saying "Literal translation".
- That is their own choice whatever username they want to be renamed to (in this case they wanted to have a consistent username). Why should their activity on other wikis be relevant here? Mario JC 21:54, August 26, 2019 (EDT)
Red Block[edit]
Since the capitalization here is inconsistent from source to source, it would probably be better if you started a discussion on the talk page before moving the page. (T|C) 21:17, January 11, 2020 (EST)
Edit reverts[edit]
Saying what a game's name is in other areas is based on the language, not the region. Wario Land: Shake It! isn't called Wario Land: The Shake Dimension in European, that's vague and not accurate. If it's in multiple languages, you can say the other languages it is in, but by region is inaccurate. Also, do not continue edit warring. If there's a problem, contact the person who reverted your edit or post on the subject's talk page. 19:13, April 25, 2020 (EDT)
- Yes, I meant just Europe. It was an example. "European" is not a language. And British English isn't biased, it's specific. Is the game called "Wario Land: The Shake Dimension" in German? We don't have that information, but if not, "Europe" is too broad. 19:20, April 25, 2020 (EDT)
- We apparently have the box art uploaded for German, and this is just marked as "European", so those were poor examples for me. If the game really is called that way in all European languages, then yeah, I guess that works. 19:26, April 25, 2020 (EDT)
Moving pages[edit]
After moving a page, please fix any links that lead to the original name to the new one and then mark the redirect for deletion. Don't leave the page for someone else to fix. You've already been told this applies to files, but it applies to categories, templates, and basically anything that isn't a used mainspace name (such as Bloober). 00:52, October 13, 2020 (EDT)
RE: Proofreader[edit]
Hello there, and thank you for your interest in The 'Shroom. It's much appreciated that you would offer your services in that regard. We do our best to root out any issues before an issue releases, but with so many submissions, I'm certain there are some issues that make it through the editing process.
Unfortunately, we don't have any positions for a proofreader among the staff, and we aren't looking for anyone to fill such a role at this time. Currently, team Directors proofread their teams, and other staff members such as the Director, Sub-Director, and Website Manager give everything a second pass at various points in the issue's preparation. Only staff have full access to the issues before release, and there would be no easy way to share a full issue with an external proofreader.
If we do, in the future, have an opening on the staff for an editing position, we'll reach out to you to let you know. For now, though, it's not currently something we're interested in. Thanks for reaching out, and, hey, if circumstances ever change and you want to write, please do consider that, too!
Hooded Pitohui (talk) 12:21, October 27, 2020 (EDT)
Summaries[edit]
Don't make snarky or discourteous remarks in your summaries. You might know the grammar well but there's no need to get so irritated at others for doing it wrong and carry it into your summaries. Just fix the mistake (leave an appropriate summary if you need to) and move on. Mario JC 00:47, April 7, 2021 (EDT)
Empty sections[edit]
Please don't add empty sections. We also don't have a template called "incomplete" (which should have been noticeable with the red link). Mario JC 22:43, October 31, 2021 (EDT)
Missing Island Tour music[edit]
Hi, do you happen to know what the deal is with some themes appearing in Mario Party: Island Tour's in-game soundtrack but not others? I'm just wondering since most uploads of the game's soundtrack are missing some pieces of minigame music. (T|C) 00:10, December 27, 2021 (EST)
Who is Yajirushi Ankou on the Mario Party 3 template?[edit]
In July, you added somebody named Yajirushi Ankou to the characters section of the MP3 template. Is it possible you could explain this mystery more in depth? It does not currently have an article, and any Google search for it simply traces back to this template. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. --UM3000
Luck-Based minigames[edit]
I was talking about minigames that are COMPLETELY luck-based. I know every minigame has some luck in them. But only the ones that are completely luck-based. Are the ones people classify as “Luck-based”. Yoshi18
Cursed Mushroom[edit]
Recently, you replaced the usage of "themself" on Cursed Mushroom with "themselves". "Themself" is considered acceptable by major style guides such as the APA style guide, MLA, and the Chicago Manual of Style, as well as by the wiki's Manual of Style — and I intentionally used it in lieu of "themselves" while writing the article to emphasize that the "they" referred to is a single person. I would ask that you do not replace instances of this in the future, because it's not actually considered incorrect usage. -- Pseudo (talk, contributions) 22:40, November 26, 2024 (EST)
