So this is it, the final issue of the era of Shoey. Upon the release of this issue, I shall join the ranks of Glowsquid as the only elected Director to fulfill a single term then disappear into the ether. I can only hope my successor Waluigi Time takes with him the wisdom of good government and proper paper management AND DOESN'T FILL THE SHROOM FULL OF SILVERITES!!! But as for me, my watch is at an end and I leave office with my head held high, having accomplished all of my goals... Well, I guess I didn't really have any goals other then getting SGoW to write for the newspaper... which she didn't do... huh...
Anyways, welcome to issue 214, the first issue of the new year!!! We've got a pretty big issue to start off the year, with not only your favorites, but a lot of extra sections! In Pipe Plaza, incoming Director Waluigi Time has brought back an old favorite, Community Report, this time focusing on all the Mario Wiki staff changes that have happened over the last year. In Fun Stuff, former director Ninja Squid returned with the solid beats of a Musical Quiz. Palette Swap is overflowing with new sections this month, with new writer Aomaf bringing us an adorable new plush-based section called Story Without Text. Pipe Plaza Director Zange breaks it down in a newly-debuting Mixdown Breakdown focusing on breaking down the hot jams of "Mugen Climax" by °C-ute, word up yo. Lastly in Palette Swap, incoming Sub-Director Sparks has another Random Video Analysis, this time covering not ponies but a Mario-based clip called Give Me the Ball Papa. Finally, Fun Stuff Director Rosearde crosses over to Strategy Wing with a new section called Killing the Killing Game Roles, centered around analysis of the game design of various Killing Game roles!
Lastly, before I go, be sure to read Waluigi Time's Directorial Address to learn all about Waluigi Time's plans to erase all my accomplishments so that he can remake The 'Shroom in his own image!
History will vindicate my memory!

Hello everyone! I'm going to keep this brief so I can go back to my vacation, but I want to extend a sincere congratulations to Waluigi Time (talk) and Sparks (talk) for their winning campaign. I know The 'Shroom will be in good hands with you guys behind the helm.
Thank you everyone for allowing Shoey and myself to take care of this project throughout 2024. I hope that we lived up to our goals we set out to accomplish. Considering that The 'Shroom hasn't spontaneously combusted, I'd say that's a win.
Please welcome the incoming team as they take the reins, and thank you all for your support reading and writing to keep this monthly newsletter alive. Without further adieu, please enjoy Issue 214.
