Addition of track images?[edit]
Should we add the images for each track on the tables in a new column next to each track name? A vast majority of the Super Mario-related tracks have unique images/screenshots for each of them that appear while listening to it, so I think that it could be a good idea to include them in with the other information. I understand that obtaining said images can be tricky; even I need to manually crop a screenshot of the app itself to get a good enough photo of the image. I also know it's not exactly needed to improve this page, but I think it would be nice and interesting to look at, and it would cap off all of the unique aspects that each track has. - MrHonor 02:02, December 14, 2024 (EST)
- Continuing from above, here's a mockup of what it would probably look like with the images:
Image | Title | Length | Playlist(s) |
---|---|---|---|
![]() |
"Ground BGM"† | 3:07 | New Adventures, Selects |
![]() |
"Timer Warning" | 0:04 | |
![]() |
"'Hurry Up!' Ground BGM"† | 2:09 |
Again, only asking here as it would be a big overhaul to the page itself. - MrHonor 02:37, December 15, 2024 (EST)
Fix unnecessary space between table and images?[edit]
Hey so I'm getting really bothered by the unnecessary space between the album and table as displayed on desktop browsers. Is there a way to fix that? Previously LadySophie17 tried to fix it but it was reverted because APPARENTLY "these are to give the tables more horizontal space so that the images in them don't get shrunk as much (as well as generally looking more aesthetically pleasing imo)"
Like, no way??? That only happens on mobile and it makes me mad. Can we just fix that or something? Please? --CyonOfGaia (talk) 23:01, December 23, 2024 (EST)
Source images[edit]
I hope this is alright to send here, I've gone through the trouble of directly obtaining just about every image used by Nintendo Music and uploaded them to a public Google Drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PnkKs6BIhPjOefI0Uvk5zk7TPB2onr58
They are all publicly accessible in the same way the playlist covers are, and the original image names are maintained here, so getting the source URL is just a matter of appending the image name (without the extension) to "https://image-assets.m.nintendo.com/". For example, the image used by the track "Ground BGM" from Super Mario Bros. is located at https://image-assets.m.nintendo.com/35f265cd-97f4-4478-8a4e-04f96cc5e3e3, and so the image is called 35f265cd-97f4-4478-8a4e-04f96cc5e3e3.jpeg here.
Uploading all of these to the wiki is frankly too daunting for the amount of time I personally have available, however I hope to continually update this folder within 24 hours of any addition to the service, so I hope it'll be of use. Polley001 (talk) 10:07, January 4, 2025 (EST)
Names of source tracks for non-Mario arrangement tracks?[edit]
Should we add a section on the tables for non-Super Mario games that show what the original track is for each arrangement? As it is, the current tracks used by nintendogs and Pikmin 4 that originate from the Super Mario franchise use different names for their arrangements as opposed to the names of the original compositions; for example, "Toy: Mario Kart" (the name of the arrangement in nintendogs) vs. "GCN Yoshi Circuit" (the original name of the track as we know it). Additionally, some track names are not as obvious as others as for what the original track is. Not everyone is going to be able to identify "Mechanical Harp: Lullabies" from Pikmin 4 as being an arrangement of "Piranha Plant's Lullaby" upon reading it here for the first time, and the image of the track itself doesn't give a good hint at it, either.
