Were they ever officially named "Koopa Paratroopa" or do they only appear as simply "Paratroopa"s? Shouldn't the page be moved to Paratroopa? - Cobold
I've never heard it be called "Koopa Partroopa" i second the motion...Merge! Great Gonzo
- They have been called Koopa Paratroopas rarely but Pratroopas mkore often. MOVE! Paper Jorge (Talk·Contribs)
Koopa Paratroopa is the original name from Super Mario Bros. -- Son of Suns
- I really believe that Paratroopa (or even Parakoopa) is the better name for this. We should have a poll, I guess. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:11, 10 August 2007 (EDT)
P-Wing[edit]
Er... I thought the "P" in P-Wing stands for "power". Does it really stand for "Paratroopa"? --PaperStriker 04:14, 1 November 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, I thought it meant "Power" as well! Which is it? My Bloody Valentine
- Yep, it's Paratroopa-Wing. --Mario Versus Luigi

MERGE!!!!![edit]
They are not a subspecies, just Koopas with wings. We should merge this with Koopa Troopa. Gumball of the Stars (talk)
- There are many reasons why we wouldn't merge them. Two examples are: They act differently and are different playable characters in some games. Yoshiwaker
- Also there name it different and why don't you do me a favor Koopaman and make a draft of the Koopa Troopa page with the Koopa Paratroopas merged in to it Goomba's Shoe15 (talk)
Green Paratroopas Hovering?[edit]
According to the article, the green Paratroopas bounce off the ground, while the red Paratroopas hover in a set path. However, in World 7-1 of New Super Mario Bros., there are green Paratroopas hover above a bottomless pit. Could this mean that both green Paratroopas and red Paratroopas are more or less the same? MimiTheCopycat 19:23, 27 August 2012 (EDT)
- Well the whole thing is a confusion but as a general rule Red Koopas hover and Green Koopas hop. If you want to mention it in the Trivia section or somewhere else go ahead but these small details are sometimes better just to be overlooked to prevent even more confusion. Good observing though. Mario Kart Mistake[edit]
I saw in the Mario Kart section that it said that Paratroopa was one of three characters in the mainstream Mario Kart not to appear in Mario Kart Wii. While that is not true, because there are 8 including Paratroopa, bold indicates not in the article. (Paratroopa, Petey (DD), DK Jr. (SMK),R.O.B. (DS), Metal Mario, Lakitu, Queen Bee/Honey Queen, Wiggler (MK7) Does "mainstream" not include handhelds? Yoshi K (talk)
I think the wording was changed, as there were 3 beta characters with CSS Icons (excluding Mii Outfit C) for Mario Kart Wii, them being Hammer Bro, Petey Piranha, and Paratroopa. That was probably how there were three characters. Also, in my opinion, the four Mario Kart 7 newcomers don't count, since they weren't introduced at the time of Mario Kart Wii and no one thought of including them. MarioComix (talk) 16:09, 31 August 2012 (EDT)
- Still, it doesn't say 3 to appear in mainstream Mario Kart before Mario Kart Wii, which would still be inaccurate because of R.O.B. Also, the article had listed Paratroopa, Petey Piranha and DK Jr.. So I don't think it came from beta. I added the information so it is solved now. Yoshi K (talk)
New Artwork[edit]
- I was checking the Nintendo eShop earlier, and I noticed that when you go to "Recommendations", a new artwork image of a Koopa Paratroopa can be seen. It does not look like any artwork that exists here, but sadly I can't get a good quality image of what it looks like. M&SG (talk) 08:42, 21 October 2012 (EDT)
PiT[edit]
Paratroopas are referenced twice in partners in time, once when a toad near the thwomp volcano time hole and once in the description for "para slacks". The toad calls them paratroopas but the description calls them parakoopas. RPG Gamer. I HAVE RPG!! (talk) 13:50, 5 April 2013 (EDT)

Blue Paratroopa[edit]
With the exception of one blue koopa in New super Mario Bros, blue koopas have never appeared as a species (Excluding Paper Mario Npcs) However, in mario Kart 8, on Piranha Plant slide or Cloudtop Cruise, blue paratroopas as well as red and green appear in the audience. This marks the first appearence of a blue paratroopa, infact many. This is even stranger due to the fact that while Red and Green and Yellow but not blue Paratroopas appeared in super mario world. Could this be noted as trivia? (I am aware that Parakarry is a blue paratroopa)Toadbrigade5 (talk) 23:02, 31 August 2014 (EDT)
- Oh, right, blue paratroopas from Bowser's inside story. But still.Toadbrigade5 (talk) 23:22, 31 August 2014 (EDT)
Quote is wrong[edit]
Sorry but it's "Shell Shock three, weapons free. Let's light him up. Over." as in military speak, not "light him up over" like it says now. Toadbrigade5(Sorry for forgetting to log in)
- Okay, I changed it. MarioComix (talk) 21:17, 27 September 2014 (EDT)
uh so[edit]
I forgot to add a summary. i'll just say this. Paratroopa has appeared in Mario Hoops 3 on 3. You can revert this if you want. --Toad the Mushroom (talk) 18:27, 27 January 2015 (EST)
Name[edit]
Shouldn't this be moved to Paratroopa considering that's the most modern name? Niiue (talk) 21:59, 13 September 2015 (EDT)
- They were stilled called "Koopa Paratroopas" in their SSB4 trophies, so the name's hardly been phased out entirely, and so we might as well keep the current name rather than uprooting the page. Besides, I'd worry about potentially losing search engine traffic if we downgrade our article from the full name while other wikis keep the full one. - Walkazo 12:50, 13 November 2015 (EST)
Quote[edit]
I have an idea for a new quote for the top of the page: "I ain't no stinkin boid!" from Paper Mario: Color Splash. Does anyone like this or prefer the current quote, or can think of another one? Nightwicked Bowser
- The phonetic accent on that may confuse people without context. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 13:36, October 6, 2020 (EDT)
- I'd prefer not to since that accent isn't exactly typical of Paratroopas. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 13:43, October 6, 2020 (EDT)
- I admit that I didn't take the accent into account, so I guess we'll leave the quote as it is now then. Nightwicked Bowser
- I'd prefer not to since that accent isn't exactly typical of Paratroopas. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 13:43, October 6, 2020 (EDT)
Stub[edit]
This article has a stub section. Should it be unfeatured until it is fixed? —- OhoJeeOnFire (talk) 14:18, October 21, 2021 (EDT)
- It's a very easy fix, I don't see why it should be unfeatured and refeatured for something as small as that. Somethingone (talk) 14:21, October 21, 2021 (EDT)
- Sorry. I just had to blurt it out. I didn’t mean to say that. OhoJeeOnFire (talk)
NES Remix games[edit]
Paratroopa needs information on that game and its sequel, and there are specific missions requiring Mario to defeat them. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 16:45, April 30, 2022 (EDT)
Flutter's Troopas[edit]
This talk page or section has a conflict or question that needs to be answered. Please try to help and resolve the issue by leaving a comment. |
First off, a toast to Wizakoopa, Goomhilde and the Snifsters for getting recognition in the Super Mario RPG remake. And now, a moment of silence for our other underappreciated characters, Sergeant Flutter's Troopas. In the original Japanese version, these Sky Troopas / Paratroopas (パタパタ) have a unique name: パタパ隊 (a play on "Paratroopa" and "team"). Unfortunately, it looks like they fell by the wayside once again, at least as far as the English script goes. Well, Goomba and Booster's Snifits were split into their own articles before it was cool, so maybe we can do the same here and cross our fingers for next time. I guess "Paratroopa (Super Mario RPG)" or "Paratroopas (team)" would work? LinkTheLefty (talk) 14:10, January 25, 2024 (EST)
- Makes sense to me. For what it's worth, from what I'm seeing, they also have a unique name in French ("Bataillon Para"), but not Italian or Spanish. Though the title would have to be plural ("Paratroopas"), right? Since it's about the team and not the individual generic Paratroopas. Blinker (talk)
- I believe so, though it would still probably need an identifier. LinkTheLefty (talk) 16:29, January 25, 2024 (EST)
- I think that the reason why these Paratroopas never got an official name in the US remake is because from what I can tell, the only thing they do is provide a bridge to bounce across. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 08:58, January 26, 2024 (EST)
- They're listed in the Play Report as their own minigame, though maybe the "Tall Cliff" could have the article instead, since it's the minigame's setpiece? LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:51, April 21, 2024 (EDT)
