Gameplay

Mario races Bowser on a boat in the Sumida River. While racing, Mario must avoid Cheep Cheeps and other boats while jumping on waves to beat him. If Mario's boat comes in contact with a Cheep Cheep, it slows him down, and if Mario's boat comes in contact with another boat, he becomes stuck underneath it until the boat has sailed off. For Mario's boat to go faster, the player can press B Button to use turbo. Turbo is much faster than regular acceleration, but using it fills the Heat Gauge, overheating the engine, causing Mario's boat to slow down. The player can also tilt Left Stick left to do a "boat wheelie," a move that raises the front of the boat. Pressing B Button while doing a boat wheelie causes the boat to jump, and performing a boat wheelie while hitting a wave causes the boat to jump off the wave. If Bowser reaches the goal before Mario, the latter loses the minigame.
