Great Plateau Tower[edit]

Great Plateau Tower

The Great Plateau Tower is a stage introduced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and it takes place on top of the Sheikah Tower on the Great Plateau from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The stage is entirely flat with a spire held up by six struts in the middle. The spire can be damaged by fighters, and if it takes enough damage, it collapses, revealing a single floating fall-through platform. After a while, however, the pedestal on the tower activates, and the spire is rebuilt.

In the background, as in the original game, landmarks from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild such as Death Mountain and the besieged Hyrule Castle can be seen in the far distance. The Old Man also occasionally floats onto the stage with his Paraglider in the background, although he has no effect on the battle. The stage features an arrangement of the main theme of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as its background music.

The pass-through platform that replaces the roof is emblazoned with "SMASHBROS" written in Breath of the Wild's Sheikah language.

Moray Towers[edit]

Moray Towers

Moray Towers is a new stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, set on top of a skyscraper with colored paint stains from Splatoon. The skyscraper has several slanted platforms the fighters can jump up and drop through. The sloped platforms meet at certain points, and if the player walks toward the slopes, they will take the lower ramp. Only by jumping can the player reach the above ramps.

Moray Towers can also be played at night, when a Splatfest is taking place. Judd also appears with Li'l Judd in the background, and holds up the flag of the color of the fighter or team in the lead.

Similar to Suzaku Castle, during the last 30 seconds of a timed match, the music changes to "Now or Never!" which would play during the last minute of Turf Wars. The version depends on which song was playing before the last 30 seconds.

Dracula's Castle[edit]

Dracula's Castle
Dracula's Castle

Dracula's Castle is a new stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is based on the location of the same name from the Castlevania series, where it is sometimes known as Castlevania or the Castle Dracula. It appears as the home stage of Simon and Richter Belmont, and is described as being the darkest stage in the game. It is also one of the realm settings that players visit in the World of Light story mode.

Within the stage, there are candlesticks that, when attacked, will spawn items for the player to use during battle. Several enemies that have appeared throughout the Castlevania series appear in this stage, including a Mummy, Medusa, the Creature & Flea Man, Death, Carmilla in her mask form, and a Werewolf. Dracula himself appears as a boss, although he only appears under certain conditions. Kid Dracula from the Family Computer parody title and its Game Boy pseudo-sequel also makes an appearance as a shadow.

Players have the option to choose from any of the 34 music tracks from throughout the Castlevania series that can be played in the stage, including classic tracks and new arrangements.

The stage environment was also used as the setting for the Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont reveal trailer, "Vampire Killer". The trailer shows Luigi exploring the castle, equipped with his Poltergust G-00, fighting and running away from Mummies, Medusa, and eventually Death, who strikes Luigi with his scythe, knocking his soul out of his body, after which Simon's appearance is revealed, shortly followed by Richter. Luigi's soul is later seen attempting to reunite with his body but encounters Carmilla before he can do so.

Mementos[edit]

Mementos in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Mementos, with the red Persona 5 color scheme

Mementos is a downloadable stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and is based on the recurring location of the same name in Persona 5. It was released alongside Joker on April 17, 2019.

The stage consists of a main platform with a small slope in the middle and two floating platforms. After a while two trains appear on the top and bottom of the stage, with the bottom train being able to damage fighters. Occasionally, a wall or ceiling will appear temporarily on the top or the sides of the stage, which fighters cannot pass through. The Morgana Bus occasionally rides in the background of the stage and will disappear through a portal, but it does not affect the fighters. Aside from the Morgana Bus, Ryuji Sakamoto, Ann Takamaki, Yusuke Kitagawa, Makoto Niijima, and Haru Okumura can appear in the background (in their "Skull", "Panther", "Fox", "Queen", and "Noir" aliases respectively), but they do not impact the battle either.

While the default color scheme is red, based on Persona 5's main color scheme, when a music track from Persona 3 or Persona 4 is selected to play on the stage, its color scheme will change to blue or yellow, respectively. This change also applies to Joker's victory screen if he wins on the stage.

Yggdrasil's Altar is a downloadable stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and is based on the recurring location Yggdrasil from the Dragon Quest series. It was released alongside the Hero on July 30, 2019.

Characters are transported around different parts of the world of Erdrea via a single main platform. Slimes and Spirits of Lost Time have cameos on this stage, and Cetacea appears in the background. Occasionally, other platforms will fly onto the field. Treasure chests may also appear on said platforms; attacking them yields an item. However, some of these chests are actually Mimics in disguise. Upon being revealed, the Mimics will lunge in front of them, dealing damage if their attack hits. They can be defeated if they are attacked enough, leaving an item behind.

Spiral Mountain is a downloadable stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, released with Banjo & Kazooie as part of Challenger Pack 3 on September 4, 2019. Originally debuting in Banjo-Kazooie, it serves as the home to Banjo and Kazooie in the series.

Characters from the Banjo-Kazooie franchise appear, including Bottles the move-teaching mole, Gruntilda Winkybunion the witch and her broomstick, Mumbo Jumbo, Tooty, variously colored Jinjos, and Buzzbombs. Aside from being background props, these characters do not affect gameplay at all. Gruntilda's Lair and Banjo's House are also visible. The camera pans around the hill over time, with the characters shifting their position accordingly. Platforms reappear and disappear throughout the duration of the fight. The no-hazards version of the stage does not pan around at all and lacks any disappearing/reappearing platforms.

The King of Fighters Stadium is a downloadable stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and is based on a tournament from The King of Fighters series. It was released alongside Terry Bogard on November 6, 2019.

The stage takes place on a large metallic platform with a circular center and invisible walls on both sides, which can be broken by KO'ing a player. Below the stage is a grassy field with the Smash Bros. logo on it and "KOF" (for King of Fighters) written inside it. The stage also has a large jumbo tron in the background with "King of Fighters" written above it as well as a large audience watching the fight. When a player is KO'd on the stage, a set of colored smoke rockets go off in the background and four sparklers on the stage itself go off.

Twenty characters from both the King of Fighters series and the Fatal Fury series make cameos on the stage, including Terry's brother, Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Tung Fu Rue, Billy Kane, Geese Howard, Rock Howard, Kim Kaphwan, Ryūji Yamazaki, Blue Mary, Athena Asamiya, Kyō Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Goro Daimon, Chang Koehan and Choi Bounge, Ralf Jones, Clark Still, Ryō Sakazaki, King, and Yuri Sakazaki. The Marketplace area of the stage

The Garreg Mach Monastery is a downloadable stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that was released on January 28, 2020 alongside Byleth. The Garreg Mach Monastery is a location that debuted in Fire Emblem: Three Houses as the headquarters for the Church of Seiros and the Officers Academy, and where Byleth teaches their students.

Similar to stages such as Delfino Plaza and Prism Tower, the stage travels through different locations in the monastery on a flat moving platform, though the transition effect resembles the one seen on Castle Siege. The locations that the platform stops at include the Marketplace, the Reception Hall, the Bridge, and the Cathedral. Similarly to Mementos and King of Fighters Stadium, several other characters from Fire Emblem: Three Houses make cameos in these areas: Dimitri, Dedue, and Ingrid from the Blue Lions House appear in the Marketplace (as well as the Gatekeeper standing in the background), Edelgard, Dorothea, and Petra from the Black Eagles House appear in the Reception Hall, Claude, Hilda, and Lorenz from the Golden Deer House appear on the Bridge (as well as a Pegasus Knight flying in the background), and Seteth, Flayn, and Rhea from the Church of Seiros appear in the Cathedral.

In the Marketplace, fighters can destroy the two vendors on each side allowing for the length of the stage to expand. In the Reception Hall, fighters can attack the chandeliers to make them fall, though some fighters are unable to reach them. The tables in this area can be destroyed as well. In the Cathedral, two pass-through platforms appear on each side for fighters to jump on.

The main part of the stage is square and is similar in size to Final Destination and Battlefield. The background of the stage has a large cheering crowd and electronic billboards that display images of different fighters from ARMS. Three platforms similar to Trampolines that allow fighters to jump high in the air appear on the stage, one on the left and right side and one in the center. An arched ceiling is above the stage, which fighters can use to bounce off and avoid being KO'd. If players have items turned on, drones will fly onto the stage with a metallic crate or capsule that fighters must destroy to obtain the item.

Northern Cave is a downloadable stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and is based on the location of the same name in Final Fantasy VII. It was released alongside Sephiroth in Challenger Pack 8 of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 on December 22, 2020. Players who had purchased the pack prior to its release date were able to access the stage as soon as December 17, 2020, by completing the Sephiroth Challenge.

The stage comprises a main platform with two small platforms at its edges. Its background presents itself as a tour through many areas within the final events of Final Fantasy VII. The stage begins outside the crater, where the Highwind can be seen flying nearby. It then gradually descends into the crater for a glimpse at the floating rocks on which Jenova∙SYNTHESIS is fought. Heading deeper into the planet, the powerful magic spell Holy can be seen in its sealed state. Holy then activates, and begins to shoot out from the crater. The stage follows the Highwind, quickly escaping the crater as Holy flies out in an attempt to stop Meteor, which is destroying Midgar. Finally, the Lifestream emerges from the planet and pushes Meteor back to allow Holy to destroy it.

Cloud Sea of Alrest is a downloadable stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and is based on the Cloud Sea from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It was released alongside Pyra and Mythra on March 4, 2021.

The stage takes place on top of Azurda as he floats through the sky. Other Titans fly past during the match, those being Goldmouth, Gormott, Uraya, Mor Ardain, Genbu, and Indol. A floating platform can be found on the left side of the stage, and Azurda’s neck acts as a slope on the right side. He can change the angle of this slope by raising and lowering his head, or turn his head to look at the titans passing by, shrinking the size of the stage. Additionally, Azurda provides commentary during the battle, such as when a fighter is KO'd or a Titan appears in the background.

Various characters from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 make cameos in the background, those being Nia, Dromarch, Tora, Poppi α, Mòrag, Brighid, Zeke, and Pandoria. These characters change whenever the stage is loaded.
