The Bridge of Eldin is a playable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It first appears as a location in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The Bridge of Eldin is flat and very wide, allowing players to run away and regroup easily. Various hills and Hyrule Castle are visible in the background. The Bridge of Eldin returns as a stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Occasionally, King Bulblin and Lord Bullbo run straight across the stage. During this, they place a bomb on the center of the bridge, and after a few seconds, the bomb detonates and creates a pit. Anyone caught in the blast radius takes heavy damage. After some time, a Twilight Portal appears and repair the bridge. King Bulblin and Lord Bullbo are able to ram into other players who get in the way, causing damage. However, other players can hit King Bulblin and Lord Bullbo, making them lose balance and not be able to ram into the players. Occasionally, a regular Bulblin follows the two. The Bulblin causes no damage and can easily be knocked off the stage. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, King Bulbin, Lord Bullbo, and Bublins do not appear on the 8-Player Smash iteration of the stage.

Pirate Ship[edit]

The Pirate Ship stage

Pirate Ship is an unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl based on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and is the home stage of Toon Link.

The stage takes place mainly on Tetra's Ship from The Wind Waker, as it sails across the Great Sea. If a player falls into the water, they temporarily swim, though touching the front hull of the ship acts as a meteor smash. At certain points, the ship will sail by a sea platform, which fire bombs at the boat that damage any nearby opponents. The King of Red Lions will also appear as an additional platform from the right side of the stage for a short time. At certain points the weather will change from sunny to stormy, and a whirlwind appears which catches the ship and throws it above clouds for a short time before it falls back into the sea, also temporarily decreasing gravity. The ship may also run aground a rocky island, which can be used as a platform. If a player stands on the ship's catapult, they may be thrown away by it.

This stage has a very minor role in the Subspace Emissary. After defeating Tabuu, the player can go back to The Forest stage. There, towards the beginning of the stage, is a newly placed floating red door. Upon entering it, the player will be taken to the Pirate Ship, to battle Toon Link. If defeated, he will become playable. If the player is defeated, they will be taken back to the Emissary map.

The Pirate Ship stage returns as a downloadable stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, for the price of US$1.49. The Omega version of the stage takes place on top of one of the sea platforms, while the Pirate Ship itself can be seen sailing in the background. The normal version of the stage is unavailable in 8-Player Smash, while the Omega form allows a maximum of eight players. However, if the ui_stage_db.bin file has been modded to allow 8 players in the normal stage, the stage comes with 8-Player spawn points at the start of the match, and it lacks the extra stage hazards such as the bombs, the tornado, and the rocky island, possibly intending this stage to be 8-Player compatible.

The Pirate Ship reappears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Norfair[edit]

Norfair is the name of a location on Planet Zebes in the Metroid series, and a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl that also appears in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It consists of five platforms, and similar to the Planet Zebes and Brinstar stages from the last two Super Smash Bros. games, the lava in this stage rises up from below. However, unlike the last two Metroid stages, Norfair's lava can come in from any direction. It may rise from the bottom of the stage, the sides of the stage, and even behind the stage. In the case of the lava coming from behind, the only way to escape it is by hiding away in a hatch that will appear on a random platform of the stage. However, only one hatch will appear, so the players will have to fight for the hatch. After an extended period of time, the hatch will close, and the lava from behind will hit, damaging any players trapped outside. If the players locked outside jump high enough, they can just barely dodge it, but that is difficult to accomplish.

The Ω form of the stage takes place on a larger version of the lowermost platform, with the soft platforms removed. No lava hazards appear.

Frigate Orpheon is the name of the first ship Samus infiltrates in Metroid Prime, as well as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Parasite Queen, the first boss of Metroid Prime, appears in the background. Acting as a somewhat small stage, it is made up of one long platform, with another smaller platform hovering above on one side, and another that moves up and down.

On occasion, the lights in the ship will go off, although this is purely aesthetics. One hazard is the stage's occasional rotation. Every now and then, after the siren goes off, the platforms will flip 180 degrees, causing any player on the stage to fall. However, the players don't move with the stage, so they must try to stay in the air as the second platform appears. The second platform is just as long, but with a smaller platform hovering in the middle, not the side, and two platforms hovering beneath the main platform. These two lower platforms periodically move off-screen.

Space Pirates performed many experiments using Phazon as a means to artificially enhance physical strength. The Parasite Queens are the result of these experiments on one small life-form. This Parasite Queen lived in a nuclear power reactor and fired destructive beams at Samus from its mouth. The barrier that spun around the queen reflected its and Samus's attacks.

Halberd[edit]

The Battleship Halberd

Halberd is one of the stages that appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, based on Meta Knight's battleship of the same name from the Kirby series, which first appears in Kirby Super Star. The stage itself is based on Revenge of Meta Knight, the game from Kirby Super Star the Halberd appears in. The ship is named after a Swedish axe-like weapon, as well as the developer of the Kirby series, HAL Laboratory.

The stage starts inside of a hanger, the floor opening to reveal a platform that is similar in design to the Battlefield stage. The platform then raises and flies around the Halberd as it takes off over the ocean, where the stage is primarily set. Later in the stage, the platform lands on the Halberd itself. The stage continues to be a Battlefield-type stage; however, the background has an added gimmick. The Combo Cannon, a double-barreled battery with an extendable robot arm, is in the background. It will occasionally shoot laser beams, cannonballs, and even attack with its robot arm.

The stage reappears in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. In this incarnation, the stage can only be played with four players in its normal form, but with a maximum of eight players in its Omega form. The Omega form of the stage is set entirely on the base platform that flies around the Halberd. The Halberd reappears as a stage as well as a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Subspace Emissary[edit]

In the Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it is taken from Meta Knight in a deleted scene, prior to the events of the game. It is first seen at the Midair Stadium, dropping off Shadow Bugs after Mario's and Kirby's fight. It is then seen in Skyworld, dropping off more Shadow Bugs. Kirby and the rescued princess (either Peach or Zelda), flying on a Warp Star, are chased by the Halberd. The Halberd destroys the Warp Star, and the duo is forced to land on the ship. Then, Fox attacks the Halberd in his Arwing but is swiftly defeated, knocking Kirby and the princess off of the ship.

Later, Falco, Fox, and Diddy Kong ride atop the Great Fox and battle the Halberd with it, but the Halberd defeats the Great Fox, which crashes into The Glacial Peak. Because of this, Lucario and Meta Knight are able to climb aboard the Halberd. Solid Snake, who is revealed to be aboard the Halberd hiding in his box, comes out of hiding. Lucario and Meta Knight find him, and they engage in battle. They all learn that they are on the same side and fight their way through to the trophies of Princess Peach and Zelda.

Suddenly, Shadow Bugs come in and create clones of the princesses, which are fought by the three heroes. After the evil clones are defeated, Peach and Zelda are freed. Lucario and Meta Knight then advance to the top of the Halberd while Snake stays for a while before going up, too. Zelda transforms into Sheik to hide from Snake, and she and Peach advance to the top of the Halberd. Meanwhile, Fox, in his Arwing, is trying to attack the Halberd once again. As the Arwing fires at the Halberd, it almost hits Peach, so Sheik jumps up and attacks it, destroying it. Fox and Sheik jump away from the Arwing, land on the Halberd, and try to attack each other. Peach promptly stops them.

Meanwhile, Snake, Lucario, and Meta Knight reach the Control Room to find it filled with Mr. Game & Watches. Snake runs in and attacks them, making them all fly out of the window. Snake jumps out after them, landing next to Peach, Zelda, and Fox. All the Mr. Game & Watches turn into Shadow Bugs, creating Duon. Falco arrives too, and they all defeat Duon. The trophy of the real Mr. Game and Watch is left behind. After this, Meta Knight takes control of the Halberd. It is seen for the last time as all of the ships charge into Subspace, and it is destroyed by the Subspace Gunship. The heroes' ships fly out of the Halberd and successfully ride into Subspace.

The main gun of the battleship Halberd. As the name references, it has two guns--the top one shoots out slow-moving shells, and the bottom one fires a powerful laser. There's a mechanical arm at the base that is used to grab enemies and hold them to be blasted by the laser cannon. It has a wide attack range and once shot down Dyna Blade after she aided Kirby.

Meta Knight's battleship, built to help Meta Knight take control of Dream Land. It's crewed by Meta Knight and the Meta-Knights and is equipped with the Combo Cannon and a shrimplike robot called the Heavy Lobster. Kirby destroys the ship's reactor, causing the Wheelies who power the ship to flee. In the end, the ship crashes into the sea while the sun sets in the background.

Lylat Cruise is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Unlike previous Star Fox stages, this one takes place on a ship called the Pleiades, and not the Great Fox. The ship will pass through the Lylat System. It plunges through many obstacles, including the Core of an asteroid, in the atmosphere of Corneria, and even through a space battle. The Arwings also shoot the players on the stage, just like they did in the last two games. In Ultimate, the Arwings' design has been updated to match their appearance in Star Fox Zero. Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, and Wolf O'Donnell can communicate with other Star Fox and Star Wolf members by using their Smash Taunts, similar to how Solid Snake can communicate to other Metal Gear characters on Shadow Moses Island. Barrels and Crates in this stage take the "futuristic" style. As Masahiro Sakurai and his translators point out in the Smash Bros. DOJO!!, although it is set in space, gravity does not change.

This stage has a minor role in The Subspace Emissary. After defeating Tabuu, the player can go back to The Ruins. When lowered into the pit, there is an extra red door at the bottom of the pit. The player must enter it to face Wolf in the Lylat Cruise. If he is defeated, Wolf is unlocked.

The Final Destination variant in Wii U and Ultimate does not tilt and removes the three smaller platforms. The main platform is completely flat. The stage does not warp and only features the Star Fox and Star Wolf dogfight.

In both Brawl and Ultimate, the unlock match for Wolf takes place here; in the former, this is also true of the unlock match for Falco.

Pokémon Stadium 2 is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and it returns in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Although basically a copy of the Pokémon Stadium from Super Smash Bros. Melee, it differs in appearance to match that of Pokémon Stadium 2, hence the name. The terrain will occasionally shift into one of four different types, and these types are different than those that the other Pokémon Stadium changes into. The terrain types are Ice, Electric, Ground, and Flying. Ice will cause the battlefield to become extremely slippery, thus, making it hard for players to keep their footing. The Electric terrain will cause two conveyor belts to appear, moving the players to the outer edge of the battlefield if they stand on them. In the Ground terrain, a mountain of earth appears in the center of the stage. When the Flying terrain appears, all players will be able to float in the air much longer after jumping, as strong wind blows upwards. The electric field contains conveyer belts which drag items off the stage, and move players standing on them. Each different stage type contains some Pokémon in the background which are of the appropriate type. These Pokémon are:

Pokémon Stadium 2 also has a very minor role in the Subspace Emissary. After completing the Story mode, the player can go back to the Swamp stage, and enter a newly placed red door. By entering it, the player will face Jigglypuff; if beaten, it will become playable. If not, the player will be taken back to the Emissary map, and the level will end with the "Stage Clear" Screen. The door to the Jigglypuff battle will stay until Jigglypuff is unlocked.

Spear Pillar is an unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, coming from Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version, the latest installment of the Pokémon series at the time. Spear Pillar is unlocked by beating Event Match 25: The Aura is With Me. It is set on a normal platform, but contains a small cave area underneath it, which players can run into.

The stage will randomly have a purple background or a blue background. Blue is a warning that Dialga from Pokémon Diamond Version will appear, and purple is a warning that Palkia from Pokémon Pearl Version will appear on the stage. Less frequently, Cresselia from both versions will appear. During any particular battle, only one of these Pokémon will appear. Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf sometimes appear in the background, though they serve no purpose.

Spear Pillar returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Although Palkia retains its status as a Poké Ball Pokémon from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, it still also makes an appearance in the stage.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the unlock match for Lucario takes place here.

  • Dialga: Fires blue energy beams, uses Roar of Time to make all players move in slow motion for a while, jumps onto the stage and damages anyone nearby, tilts the stage at a slight angle, or breaks parts of the top level.
  • Palkia: Fires purple versions of the energy beams used by Dialga, uses Spacial Rend to either reverse the stage from left to right, including the controls; tips the stage upside down, tilts it at a slight angle, breaks parts of the top level, or reduces the gravity, making falling players float longer than usual.
  • Cresselia: Shoots a boomerang-like energy blade, which spins around the stage, or uses Psycho Cut (shoots waves straight at the top platform). In Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version, Cresselia does not appear on Spear Pillar. It actually appears on Fullmoon Island and will roam Sinnoh after it is encountered.

Port Town Aero Dive is a recurring location in the F-Zero series and Captain Falcon's home town appearing as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and returning in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, specifically based upon the variation of the Port Town track in F-Zero GX. It is very similar to Mute City from Super Smash Bros. Melee, as the stage is merely a group of platforms hovering across an F-Zero race course at high speeds. The platforms will eventually stop, forcing the players to fight on the race course, rather than the platforms, just like Mute City. Occasionally, the platforms will hover off the track itself, but it will eventually come back to the track. Like in Mute City, F-Zero machines will sometimes drive past the fighters while they are on the track and can run into them to damage them. However, unlike in Mute City, F-Zero machines on this stage can neither be attacked nor be knocked out, and they can easily KO fighters at below 100% damage.

None of the songs featured in My Music in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U have ever played on a Port Town track in any of the F-Zero games.

The Ω form of the stage takes place on the touring platform. The platform is thicker than usual, and it now has grabbable ledges and cannot be passed through from below. F-Zero machines sometimes appear in the background, and the platform does not stop at a particular location.

A giant statue of R.O.B. can be seen on the track. This Easter egg is also on the F-Zero GX track that the stage is based on. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the R.O.B. model more closely resembles that of the playable R.O.B.[2]

New Pork City is the name of an EarthBound (Mother) series stage featured in the game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Its name is a portmanteau of New York City, the largest city in the United States, and Porky Minch, the recurring villain in the EarthBound series. The stage is from Lucas' game, Mother 3, and is the largest stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and contains several hazards. The stage can be compared with the Temple from Super Smash Bros. Melee, by the fact that its size and blockades allow players to run and hide from their opponents with ease. The lower wooden platform can be destroyed with a few hits. Also, a statue of Porky, Ness' rival from EarthBound and the main antagonist of Mother 3, can be seen in the right side of New Pork City.

One of the stage's features is the Ultimate Chimera, a character in the game Mother 3. It randomly appears anywhere across the stage, and starts attacking the players. The creature is invincible, and any attempts at damaging it or knocking it away fail. However, in the event that the Ultimate Chimera ends up on a breakable platform, the player can use an attack to destroy the platform, causing the Ultimate Chimera to fall and respawn on the field in another area. Likewise, if the Ultimate Chimera manages to attack the players on the stage, it instantly KOs the players (unless an obstacle stops them), sending them flying across the stage. Each bite deals 100% if the player is by the edge of the Chimera's mouth, and 200% if trapped inside.

The stage selection screen lists New Pork City as an area from EarthBound, though it actually appeared in Mother 3. It is, however, from the EarthBound (Mother) universe.

New Pork City reappears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In this game, the undersides of the floating solid platforms are colored purple instead of yellow.

The Summit is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, acting as the Ice Climbers' stage. It takes place on a huge chunk of ice with a couple of platforms hovering above it. For the first few parts of the fight, the chunk of ice stands firmly still on the top of Icicle Mountain.[3] After a certain time passes, the stage breaks off, and lands in the water with mighty force. However, players can still fight while the stage is falling, but the stage is tilted slightly. Once the stage reaches the water, it stops tilting to and fro, and is much easier to stand on. However, this does not stop the stage from bobbing up and down.

The Polar Bear lands on the top of the stage once it has reached the water, and occasionally pushes it deeper into the water. When this happens, a large, orange fish that actually originated in the Balloon Fight series, rather than in the Ice Climber series, leaps out of the water and attack other players. If the fish grabs a player in its mouth, the player is dragged below the water and loses a life. This is the third time the fish has appeared in the Super Mario franchise; the fish first appeared in the WarioWare series. In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, it appears in the microgame Balloon Fight. The fish is seen again WarioWare: Smooth Moves in another microgame called Balloon Fight, and in the unlockable minigame Balloon Trip. Players are able to fight under the water, so long as their feet touch the ground. Additionally, the platforms on the stage are able to flap up and down. After enough time passes, the stage rises back to the top of the mountain to repeat the cycle.

The Summit reappears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where its My Music library is now shared with Duck Hunt, Hanenbow, PictoChat 2, Balloon Fight, Living Room, Find Mii, Tomodachi Life, Wrecking Crew, Pilotwings, and Wuhu Island.

In the debug menu of Super Smash Bros. Melee, there is a stage named "IceTop", which freezes the game when selected; due to the name, it is possible that Summit (or a predecessor thereof) was planned to appear in the game.

Castle Siege is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and returning in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, based on the Fire Emblem series. Like Smashville, the scenery is not based on any particular Fire Emblem game. It is also the first Fire Emblem stage in any Super Smash Bros. game, as Super Smash Bros. Melee had no stages from that series.

The stage is set on top of a castle. It has numerous platforms, and in the background the rest of the castle can be seen, under attack from ballistae. However, after a certain amount of time passes, the stage transitions to the throne room. This has a few platforms above the main ground, held up by statues that can be destroyed. Several enemy soldiers can be seen in the background, including the general sitting on the throne. Finally, the stage transitions to an underground lava cavern. There, players fight on a rock platform balanced on a thin spire, which tilts back and forth depending on where players are standing.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the unlock match for Marth takes place here.

Flat Zone 2 is an unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, acting as the second Game & Watch stage in the Super Smash Bros. series, the first being Flat Zone from Super Smash Bros. Melee. This stage also reappears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, also as an unlockable stage. In both games, this stage is unlocked by unlocking Mr. Game & Watch, but requires also to have completed the 35 first challenges in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

As with Flat Zone, the stage is set inside a Widescreen-series model with Super Smash Bros. written at the top. Also as Flat Zone, the characters are flattened.

Unlike the original Flat Zone, Flat Zone 2 normally shifts to different Game & Watch game scenarios, rather than staying in one area the entire battle. The arena can change between Fire (1981 version), Oil Panic's bottom screen (1982), Lion (1981), or Chef. When the alarm icon is shown at the top-right corner of the screen, the arena will change a few seconds later.

The stage is always set in Fixed Camera mode regardless of Special Brawl settings, as opposed to the original Flat Zone which frequently has its camera zoom in on players.

The Final Destination variation of the stage in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is set on the roof of the gas station in the Oil Panic portion of the stage. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, a stage named Flat Zone X appears, which is a combination of Flat Zone and Flat Zone 2. Flat Zone 2, Rumble Falls, and PictoChat are the only stages from Super Smash Bros. Brawl that do not return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, while Flat Zone 2 itself does not appear independently, Flat Zone X, a stage from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U combining Flat Zone 2 and Flat Zone, makes a return.

Skyworld is a stage based on Angel Land, Pit's homeland from Kid Icarus, and is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl with a statue the goddess, Palutena, in the background. It has fragile platforms that may be destroyed by powerful attacks. It is even possible for the main platform to get destroyed, turning the level into a stage of cloud platforms, which can be dropped through by pressing down on the Control Stick. However, the platforms will regenerate in a short while.

The stage returns in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Aside from a higher graphic resolution, the stage retains its properties from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Its Omega variant takes place next to a fountain. Skyworld reappears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary, Skyworld is the second stage in the World of Trophies. While the stage shares the same name, the layout is completely different. Before entering the stage, a cutscene plays showing Pit watching the fight between Mario and Kirby at the Midair Stadium. Once the arena is taken into Subspace, Palutena appears, gives Pit a bow, and sends him on his way.

Pit starts on a small cloud platform, and dropping through will cause him to fall through other clouds that cannot be stood upon before landing on a solid platform below. Afterward are several cloud platforms with two Item Boxes. Below the platforms and to the right is another Item Box, and breaking it open will reveal a door, which leads to a cutscene showing the Halberd dropping Shadow Bugs, which form into Primids Pit has to fight off. After doing so, the path forward appears. Continuing onward, Pit will come across a Cymul over an Item Box followed by a Greap, which Pit mush defeat to reveal a door. Entering the door, Pit will come across Mario in his trophy form and will rescue him, allowing the player to pick between the two for the next segment. The player will then fall through some clouds before landing in an area with several Glunders. Continuing downward, the player will land on a purple platform that will move to the next area. Crossing a platform with Jyks on them, the player will then have to jump across a large wheel followed by several platforms with enemies. Behind the third moving pillar ahead is a door that will take the player to an area with some Item Boxes; breaking the first box will cause the screen to scroll upward, and breaking the box at the top will reveal the door to go back at the bottom of the segment. Continuing forward in the main area, the player will have to fight several Primids, some Spaaks, and a Roturret before the way to the end of the stage opens. Going through the final door will play a cutscene showing Mario and Pit watching the Halberd leave as an Arwing goes after it and the Sea of Clouds stage will open.

Distant Planet is the name of Captain Olimar's home stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl which later appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The stage is set on the planet that Captain Olimar landed on in Pikmin.

It takes place on a group of leaves, vines, and a hillside, in reference to the natural terrain of Pikmin. Pellet Posies regularly grow out of the ground, and when attacked they drop their pellets, which can be tossed at opponents for light damage. However, their main purpose is to be thrown at an Onion when one flies down on the stage to get items. Onions can also be attacked, after three hits it will fly back up. Onions also fly back up after a minute. Occasionally it will start to rain, which makes the steep hillside treacherous, since water will rapidly flow down and sweep players off the stage. The other main hazard is a Red Bulborb that sometimes appears on the right side of the stage, and eat any player that jumps near it, then dragging them offstage for a KO. Even when its mouth is closed, landing on it and remaining there for too long could result in a KO if it decides to go back off the stage with a player on its back.

In the background of the stage, a Red Bulborb, a Cloaking Burrow-nit, a large toppled over soda can, and a flower resembling a Creeping Chrysanthemum or Margaret in one of the pots is seen.

In Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS, the Final Destination form of Distant Planet is set on a piece of land. Although there are vines in the background, none appear on the stage itself, and the Bulborb also does not appear.

Shadow Moses Island is a default stage in the game Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is from the first Metal Gear Solid game, and acts as Solid Snake's home stage. The walls on either side can be destroyed with normal attacks, allowing for players to be launched out of the screen from the sides and lose a life.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, its Battlefield and Ω forms take place above the heliport on a large platform that resembles the bottom platform of the original stage, while the original stage itself can be seen in the background.

If 15 matches are played here in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Snake will challenge the player on this stage. If he is defeated, he will be unlocked as a playable fighter. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he is the 39th character unlocked through VS matches and can be the fifth character unlocked by playing Link's Classic Mode route. Both methods have him fought on Shadow Moses Island.

On this stage, Snake can use his codec to get information about his opponents from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, through a Codec Conversation from Otacon, the Colonel, Mei Ling and (if Falco is being faced) Slippy Toad. He can trigger these conversations with a taunt. They have no influence on the actual battle. While the stage and Snake himself are absent in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, its concept is revisited for Pit's conversations with Palutena on Palutena's Temple. The codec conversations return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, though it is limited to Super Smash Bros. Brawl's roster and their reused conversations. Like Palutena's Guidance, they are disabled in the stage's Ω and Battlefield forms.

The Metal Gear RAY, Metal Gear REX or two GEKKO may appear in the background of the stage, but they do not affect gameplay. A spotlight also occasionally aims around the stage, and if it catches a player, an exclamation point appears above the player in a similar manner to the original Metal Gear Solid games, complete with the same sound effect. Like in the original games, this does not occur for Snake if he is hiding in his box for his taunt. Because of the GEKKO's appearance in the stage, Super Smash Bros. Brawl marks their first game appearance, due to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots being released afterward.

Green Hill Zone[edit]

Green Hill Zone is a stage based on the first level of Sonic the Hedgehog, appearing as an unlockable stage and Sonic the Hedgehog's home stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which eventually returns in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a default stage. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it is automatically unlocked when the player unlocks Sonic.

In the background, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, and Silver the Hedgehog often appear running through the loop. If the terrain is attacked too often, a section of it will collapse, but it can eventually repair itself. A Point Marker from the Sonic games occasionally appears on the stage, which temporarily spins when attacked and deals damage to opponents.

The Final Destination form of Green Hill Zone is set on a flat platform; the Point Markers also do not appear.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the unlock match for Sonic takes place here.

Smashville in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Smashville is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is based off of the Nintendo series Animal Crossing. The stage consists of a simple platform floating in mid-air, with a smaller, moving one above it. Aside from the Animal Crossing scenery, the stage is rather similar to Battlefield. As with the games in the Animal Crossing series, the sky will change to match the Wii, Wii U, or Nintendo Switch's internal clock. Similar to the original game, balloons fly by, but carry Food instead of presents. The name "Smashville" is a reference to the fact that players can name their town in Animal Crossing anything they want. However, with the character limit of eight, "Smashville" would be two letters too long to enter in the Animal Crossing games prior to Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Also, just like in the Animal Crossing games, if the game is played on a Saturday at 8:00 PM, K.K. Slider will appear in a live concert and play music. In the background of the stage, many Animal Crossing characters can be seen watching the fight. Brewster can also be seen selling coffee to the spectators. Also, in the land below the stage, taxis can be seen driving around town. The Villager, a character who would go on to be a playable character for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, can sometimes be seen as a spectator in the background of this stage, albeit with a different haircut.

The PictoChat stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

PictoChat is a stage that only appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is based on the PictoChat communication application found on the Nintendo DS. It starts off as a simplistic, flat stage, but as time passes, small sketches form on the stage. They can act as additional platforms, obstacles, or hazards to the combatants. The main platform will commonly say "Now entering:", followed by the name of one of the fighters participating in the match, selected at random.

Although it does not return in later Super Smash Bros. games, a successor called PictoChat 2 appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. PictoChat, Rumble Falls, and Flat Zone 2 are the only stages from Super Smash Bros. Brawl that do not return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Hanenbow is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, from the game Electroplankton. In Brawl, it is unlocked by completing Event Match 28: Flower Blooms in the Echoes.

This stage is a leafy, swamp-like place. The leaves will rock and turn yellow, then red, if attacked; attacking the leaves also creates various tones that blend with the stage's ambient background music. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, players cannot add any music to the stage, not even through the My Music mode (as Hanenbow does not appear in "My Music", even after being unlocked), likely because the ambiance and tones would interfere with it.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as with Summit, Duck Hunt, PictoChat 2, Living Room, Balloon Fight, Tomodachi Life, Find Mii, Wrecking Crew, Pilotwings, and Wuhu Island, any music track available in the "Others" playlist can be selected to play on this stage, including the background ambiance, as well as a new remix made for the stage.

There are Hanenbow that fly around the stage bouncing off the leaves, and can hit players that end up in their path. There is also water at the bottom of the stage, which is treated as a pit unlike any other instance of water. Players are also rendered as 2D, similar to the stages Flat Zone, Flat Zone 2, and Flat Zone X. This is one of three stages in Brawl to have its own icon (a Nanocarp) without having a playable character to go alongside it, the others being Smashville and PictoChat.

The Hanenbow creature also has a sticker in Brawl, and appears as a spirit in Ultimate.
