Candy's Challenge is a minigame in the first remake of Donkey Kong Country. It replaces Candy's Save Point from the original version, since autosaving has become a function, though would be replaced again by Candy's Dance Studio in the second remake. All six worlds have a unique challenge in which DK and Diddy to collect its Banana Coin. The Kongs cannot replay a challenge after completing it.[1] The challenges are as follows:
- Kongo Jungle: The Banana Coin is found by bouncing off of the tire and on to the middle patch;[2] the other two each hide a Banana Bunch.
- Monkey Mines: Jumping at the four Roulette Barrels when each one depicts a Banana Coin earns the player character that Banana Coin,[3] though hitting one picturing a Zinger causes them to lose.
- Vine Valley: A Roulette Barrel minigame in which the Kong has to select which barrel contains the Banana Coin to win it.[4]
- Gorilla Glacier: The Kongs have to jump at the orbiting letters in the highlighted order: first "CANDY" for an Extra Life Balloon; then "FUNKY" for a Green Balloon; and "CRANKY" for the Banana Coin.[5]
- Kremkroc Industries, Inc.: The fifth Banana Coin is on the center white rope between several Zingers.[6]
- Chimp Caverns: The Banana Coin is in the center of a maze of Barrel Cannons and Blast Barrels.[7]
