Birdo?

Are you sure this is your own words? Judging by the amount of broken links involved, it looks like it's stolen.

If I assumed wrong, sorry.

He said in MarioWiki:Featured Articles/N/Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story that it came from Wikipedia. KS3 (talk · contribute) 04:29, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Um, it got reverted.

BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)

In order to clarify, I wrote all of this comment on Wikipedia, which is why it has so many broken links. - NARCE 04:32, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
So you are 76.164.101.150 in Wikipedia. KS3 (talk)
No, I cannot say that I am. That is a person who was vandalizing the article just recently. - NARCE 04:39, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Or you are New Age Retro Hippie. KS3 (talk · contribute) 04:45, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Si. - NARCE 04:45, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
So why isn't your username here NARH? 22360415-149x149-0-0 ++The+SpongeBob+SquarePants+Movie.jpg Boo der dash 180px-MaskedDedede.png
I knew it! KS3 (talk)
This is what I usually use for other web sites. If you'll notice, New Age Retro Hippie abbreviates to "NARH". - NARCE 04:51, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

You know it's possible to go to Lindsay's talk page and explain your reasoning instead of repeatedly reverting the edit. Marioguy1 (talk)

Same with me. My username except for Userpedia, Earthbound Wiki, and here, is either onetwentysix, or Sixeightyseventyone. (I don't know why, probably in honor of this person), so you might ask, well why isn't your name here also one of those two. Well, I was a user here before anywhere else, although I vandalized once on Wikipedia when I was 7, well back then, I didn't really know anything about Wikipedia vandalizing. Well, you should seen my first username. It was really long. I decided to shorten it up. Back in January, Mario Kart Wii was my favorite game, and Red Shells was my favorite item in the game. And in Mario Kart Wii, there is Wifi connection. And in there, you earn points, there called vr (battle is br). So I intended it to be Red Shell 6806vr, my vr that time, but there was a typo error (I typed in a extra 6). I was worried about other people thinking me as a MKW hacker, so I quickly changed my name.
Nowadays, I got bored of having my name as KS3, but the two name-change rule put me into this name prison, where I'm trapped until February with this MKW-clan-modified-thing name. The only good thing is that it is easy to type, unlike BLOF's and the person who nominated Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

PS: I know 2 other people who are at both here and Wikipedia, but two of them doesn't contribute as much, and I don't know much about the other.

I do too. User:Booderdash

Actually 3. They are Fawfulfury75, MATEOELBACAN, and you, Booderdash. KS3 (talk · contribute) 05:43, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

RE: Birdo

I am not Lindsay, but I think I can answer in her stead. The section that was removed was a 1:1 copy from wikipedia, and we do not allow these here, regardless of how well-written they may be. If this kind of information is to be included (which would indeed be helpful) it has to be an original text, written by a Mariowiki user for the Mariowiki.

Another thing:

Why have you not replied? For a sysop, you sure are unhelpful in promoting discussion.

Lindsay is not a sysop, she is a patroller, and she has only been promoted a few days ago, so seeing you attacking her like that strikes me as very rude. Please watch how you address the other members of this wiki, if you want to be respected as one of our writers. Thank you for the attention. - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 05:48, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

It was not an attack. It was me being frustrated from being ignored when I tried to explain my edit, and afterward, having the user not care about what I just said.
And in response, the content was written by me on Wikipedia, and brought over here. If I were to write reception for this article, the only thing that would happen would be that I would have to find all of these sources again, and write it again. I cannot rewrite it, as any rewriting I would do would be a near reproduction of what I wrote originally. The policy of not taking from Wikipedia was for the fact that it was in poor taste, and may be taken poorly by the writers who worked very hard to create the content and source the content. However, opposing the addition of content because it is from Wikipedia is not an appropriate reason. Heck, I was one of the people who pushed for keeping Wikipedia content off of this Wiki, but not blocking for the sake of blocking. The only good reason to block Wikipedia content is invalid as the only person who could complain would be me, who obviously doesn't care that such content is on the article. - NARCE 06:51, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I recognize an attack when I see one, but anyways...
You don't seem to understand the mentality of this wiki very well. A good editor here not only knows how to write well and comprehensive, and to use sources wisely. A good editor also possesses something that is called pride in his or her own work. Having 1:1 copies from other sides as entire sections is a disgrace to the very act of writing itself. The entry you copy/pasted was written with pride for wikipedia, but it is meaningless for our wiki. You may not understand this, but there is a difference between Wikipedia and the Mariowiki. Wikipedia is a highly-comprehensive factual encyclopedia with uncountable masses of contributors, and a coverage of almost everything. The Mariowiki, while trying to be as factual as possible, is in its core still a fan wiki, written by Mario fans for Mario fans. In a fan wiki, you should not only feel obliged to editing standards and good writing alone, no, one of the most important things is that you feel passion for what you're doing. You are here because you are a Mario fan, and to show that you write articles. By copying stuff from other pages, yes, even if you were the one who wrote them originally, you submit something that contains no passion at all, since it was written for a completely different purpose and site altogether.
Fan wikis will always remain different from wikipedia, since they have entirely different mentalities and objectives. The reason we exist is the passion and loyality of those of our contributors who take pride in what they do. We are the Mariowiki, we are proud of what we have accomplished. We want to preserve our accomplishment by featuring content from us and for us. Therefore, we don't want to copy wikipedia's content. If you think that ripping off content from another side is no big deal, if you are trying to turn the Mariowiki into a second wikipedia, and if you do not feel passion and love for the work you are doing here, then you are in the wrong place. Good day. - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 18:19, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Endo, how can a wikia become a wiki? 22360415-149x149-0-0 ++The+SpongeBob+SquarePants+Movie.jpg Boo der dash 180px-MaskedDedede.png

As Edo said, we don't try to emulate Wikipedia. So don't go around trying to change policies, because the oens we have have worked very good, and some of them are even an example for other NIWA wikis. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 19:20, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

For one, I'm pretty sure that you'd have a hard time establishing how someone can rip off themselves.
For another, you use the act of someone using their own work on two related sites as if it has anything to do with writing. Explain to me, how I can possibly in any capacity make a similar section without having it turn out exactly the same. If I had an interest in improving the Birdo article, that would effectively be your argument - waste time writing the same content. To suggest that I don't have "pride" in something that I scoured the Internet to find all of the sources for, and have spent hours writing and rewriting is absurd. Again, writing has nothing to do with what you are describing. I'm sorry that you prefer your readers to learn less about certain elements, but I'd prefer our readers were able to learn about these things. As it stands, all Birdo presents is "oh hay, stats!". It's not pride in MarioWiki, but rather disdain for Wikipedia that prevents you from daring to allow such content. Or, heck, even probably the fact that if it is allowed, it becomes standard, and raises the expectations for articles. - NARCE 20:46, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but writing something that is directly from Wikipedia is still not allowed. It is called Wikidump, and does not make the article any better. Fawfulfury65
It is by my hand that it is written. We don't allow Wikidumps because it's considered theft. One cannot steal from themselves. - NARCE 20:57, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but you still can't put content here that is on another wiki. Fawfulfury65
You mean the real original wiki that started it all. Btw, why was Shadoom blocked? He didn't seem to be trolling to me. 22360415-149x149-0-0 ++The+SpongeBob+SquarePants+Movie.jpg Boo der dash 180px-MaskedDedede.png
