Hand Me Down being played on the top screen in "SplitScreen" in WarioWare Gold, while Ana is seen on the bottom soon after a previous microgame had been won on the bottom screen.

Split Screen is a Challenge mode in WarioWare Gold. It is hosted by Kat & Ana and involves microgames being played constantly with no intermissions.

Gameplay

The mode can be played using the Mash or Ultra inputs, though the game's Ultra inputs have no guide, similar to the "Ultra: No Guide" mode in All Mixed Up. Microgames take place on both the top screen (represented by Kat) and the Touch Screen (represented by Ana). Only one micrgame is played at a time. When a microgame concludes on one screen, the next microgame starts with an extremely short transition on the other screen. In Ultra, no Touch microgames will appear on the Touch Screen, and no two consecutive microgames will have the same control scheme.

All normal-length microgames (with 8 beats) in the game can be played. The difficulty increases to Level 2 after 17 rounds, and increases to Level 3 after 34 rounds. The microgames' speeds increase in sync with the background music as the score increases.

In-game description

"This is Kat and Ana! There's no time for rest in our mode! When the game on the top screen stops, another one'll start right away on the bottom screen. You're gonna need all your concentration skills here!"
