Toad in the Box (stylized as TOAD in the Box) is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 2.

Overview

The minigame opens with the players first falling into the scene, then the blocks.

During gameplay, players compete to get a Toad symbol on a spinning block. Each time a player achieves this, the platform beneath them grows taller, and the block spins faster. Getting a non-Toad symbol slows the player down. Rolling a Piranha Plant has the block bonk the character once, wasting about one second. Rolling a Chain Chomp has the block bonk the character twice, wasting about two seconds. Rolling a Bowser symbol has Baby Bowser come out of the block and squash the character flat, wasting about three seconds. The first player to roll a Toad symbol five times is the winner. If nobody does after five minutes, the game ends in a draw.

The minigame title is a play on jack-in-the-box.

It costs 150 Coins to buy the minigame from Woody.
