Time Q's talk page
|
---|
Well, that's my talk page (surprise, surprise), and if you wanna talk, please do so! Just a few rules.
- Please always add a header if you start a new topic.
- If you feel the need of doing so, you may send me pointless messages such as "Hi!", but don't expect me to answer.
- Freedom of speech, so say what you want. (I don't care about flaming and such, but the community does, so better refrain from doing so :P)
- If you want to put images on this page, please make sure they're small enough. Or even better, just put a link to it rather than the image itself.
- Generally I'll answer on this page (in order to make the discussion traceable), but sometimes I'll also answer on your page (in order to make sure you read the message). So please check this page if you don't get a message on your page.
- Remember to sign with ~~~(~), don't remove anything from this page, and the other usual blabla.
- That's it.
Okay
Cool your jets, dude. Don't be hatin'! R.O.B. 128
What's wrong with having a big sig? (hahaha... big sig... that's humorous) --R.O.B 128 06:04, 17 August 2008 (EDT)
I've dealt with haters like you before. Your words towards me sound very familiar. I will back that up by typing that I've seen ALOT of sigs that are larger than that test box. Are you targeting me because of my user name? --R.O.B 128 09:14, 17 August 2008 (EDT)
By the way, I only "signed my name" on one talk page. --R.O.B 128 09:16, 17 August 2008 (EDT)
Gee, that's all you had to say. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. You do your job very well. --R.O.B 128 10:05, 17 August 2008 (EDT)
Well, in that case, why did RAP put a Personal Image tag on the animation and not say it was bad or anything? And also, have you seen how many other Users have animations in their sigs? Are you really going to go around to all of them?
»» If you let me keep the GIF, I'll make it a bit smaller
Bribery
OK, if I give you $1,000,000, will you let me keep my signature? Nah, just kidding. OK, so if you think it's too distracting (I don't - and the colours aren't that bright anyway), then how about I just use one of the 2 frames in the GIF as a standard JPEG image, and make it slightly smaller? Surely that would be OK?
»» OK, maybe $999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999?
Image Use Policy
I noticed that "policy" in MarioWiki:Image use policy is not capitalized; could you move the page, so it is? Marcelagus (T • C • E)
- Hiya again, but could you cross out anything that I fixed at the Baby Luigi Nomination page, so that it can pass standards? Thanks. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
Hello
Hi Time Q. How are you? SJ derp :P
- I tried to come up with a rhyme for "Toadette" too, but I failed. How do you pronounce it anyway, is the stress on the first or the second syllable? Uhm... I'm fine, thanks, and you? (I know what made you talk to me - the Virtual Console release of Super Mario RPG - am I right? ;) Time Questions 13:45, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
- I don't really know about the stress syllable. I'm fine, except for the fact that we still don't have Mario RPG, while the other regions do. I hope I get to see the screen on my userpage Monday. SJ derp :P
- I hope it for you and the other Americans too. But why should they leave out just NA. Time Questions 13:54, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
- Because Nintendo of America has issues. I asked them a question last night (I bet you can guess what it is), and they replied today and said that they don't have a list or any release dates of upcoming releases. It's really messed up. SJ derp :P
- Strange. Just strange. :| Time Questions 13:59, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
- Srsly. They said they can't give release dates because they are subject to change. Why change them? If they do that, it makes me wonder if they want us to hunt them down with torches, pitchforks, and sticks. SJ derp :P
- Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think Nintendo of Europe, for example, would give such release lists either. (Or do they have such? IDK :/) Time Questions 14:09, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
- They probably do, but knowing NoA, they like to PO us before they do something nice for us. If it isn't here Monday, well, I don't know what I'll do, but I'm sure I'll do something about it. SJ derp :P
- Mega Man was probably the most decent game released since DKC3. SJ derp :P
- It's most likely because they don't tell anyone what they're releasing. As I've stated before, Nintendo hates everyone. SJ derp :P

Uploading Trouble
Hey, Time Q. I'm having some troubles uploading images. I'm trying to upload some sig images for me, but whenever I hit the "Upload file" under the page "Special:Upload", it won't upload. I had filled in everything that was needed; do you know if I did something wrong? --Palkia47 09:09, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- Have you checked that the image title has neither of these symbols: &, +, ?, and that your image isn't too big? Those would be the only things I can think of that cause problems. Time Questions 09:14, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- I've checked both before I tried uploading them last night, and they didn't have "&" "+" or "?". The image is a small one, just a tad bigger than the sigbox. Palkia47
- That's strange. Does any error message appear when you're trying to upload it? You could also upload it externally, so I could try to upload it here. Time Questions 09:21, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- No, new message pops up. As soon as I click the upload file button, nothing happens at all. Upload externally? How can I do that? --Palkia47 09:22, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- There are external websites where you can upload images, try ImageShack for example. I could download the pic from there, and try to upload it here, to see if it works for me. Time Questions 09:24, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- I'd be greatful if you could do that for me :). Here's a link to the first image: [1]. Thanks! --Palkia47 09:30, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- It worked :) Could you select the appropriate license for this pic, please? Time Questions 09:37, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- Uh... technically, I'd have no clue what license it would be under. Would be under "Character Artwork" or something like that?? --Palkia47 09:40, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
- It depends on what you want to allow others to do with the image, see here for some options. I have to go now, so if you have questions, I can try to answer them later. If you have more images to upload, you'll have to wait a few hours, or simply ask someone else in the meantime. See ya later, Time Questions 09:44, 23 August 2008 (EDT)

- I'm not sure. Did you make sure it really has a correct extension? And have you tried to upload a different file to see if it works? Time Questions 16:26, 1 October 2008 (EDT)

Dixie Kong FA
Hello. I just wanted to know if you finished reading Dixie's article. Javier12345 00:00, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
- Not yet. It's too long :D Nah, I'll see if I can do it soon. Time Questions 05:19, 24 August 2008 (EDT)
- I don't know if you've forgotten or anything, but have you tried rereading Dixie's article? It's just that... once one month goes by, they get deleted, correct? Marcelagus (T • C • E)

Re: Unfeaturing FAs
Personally I disagree with the minimum character limit...but with the type of people that constitute the userbase, I can see some mistakes possibly made with other articles. But before I say OK, please tell me – why don't you give the userbase fix the current problems to the FA before removing it? Wa TC@Y 16:32, 26 August 2008 (EDT)
- Oh OK – most definitely add that in. I give you my OK (not that you needed it anything :P). Wa TC@Y 17:04, 26 August 2008 (EDT)

Re: Time
Yeah, I kind of see your point. I was just thinking as Time being a generic word, but not "Time Hole". But okay. Also, I was reading your un-feature thing on Wayo's talk page, and just wondered some things. So, with "Un-Featuring", is there some sort of time limit? So, let's say User Y nominates Article X for un-featuring. And then, nobody(not even W :P) makes the effort to fix whatever Y proposed was missing with the article. Does the nomination just sit there, or the article gets un-featured after a certain amount of time? You just said "...in case there's nobody willing to improve it, the article will lose its FA status.", but didn't state an exact time. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
- Oh. Somehow, I assumed you had already removed it. But no worries, I just took it off. And, I was also expecting you to answer 1 week, but by 1 week, I'm still confused by some things. So, if a user nominates something as un-feature, and for some reason nobody even notices the fact that it got nominated, does the article become un-featured, without anyone noticing? I'm guessing we might use a system sort of like the FASTAT template(UNFASTAT?) at the top of a nominated page, just so people notice. And maybe a section on MarioWiki: Featured Articles about un-feature nominations. Also, if you're really going to make it like the FA process, shouldn't you wait until there's 5 votes to un-feature it? And no oppose votes on top of that, maybe? It seems more logical, and would probably eliminate the problem with nobody noticing the nomination; although, I know your eyes are too keen to miss that sort of stuff. ;) Marcelagus (T • C • E)

Did you accidently delete Apook Corporation? Cause that dude just made it again. uper-Yoshi
- It is a redirect, and he made it before he made the article it linked to (Apook). I didn't know then that he was going to make the article Apook. So actually he's right, I should have waited a bit longer before deleting the redirect ;) Time Questions 14:07, 28 August 2008 (EDT)

Re: Removing Comments
You see, most of those comments were posted at a time when I wasn't thinking straight. The comments were pretty stupid, and no one had responded to them, so I figured it really wouldn't matter if I deleted them. Yeah, I'm gonna try to think I little before I post a comment from now on, so that probably won't be happening again (right after I remove my comment on the Super Mario RPG discussion board and go ahead and change the article myself :) but that's the last one). Green Day
Hey, Time Q. I read on Pokemon DP's talk page that you were a fan of Green Day. So am I! I was wondering, do you have any of their albums? — Stooben Rooben 18:11, 11 September 2008 (EDT)
- Hi Stooben. Yeah, I have Dookie, Insomniac, nimrod., Warning:, and American Idiot. As for the other albums, I borrowed them once and put the songs on my computer. What about you? Time Questions 18:37, 11 September 2008 (EDT)
- All great albums. I have International Superhits!, American Idiot (which I am :P), Dookie, and Warning. The first two are my favorites though. I like how American Idiot is all an ongoing story revolving around Jesus of Suburbia; it's pretty inventive. :D — Stooben Rooben 19:04, 11 September 2008 (EDT)
- True :) Insomniac might even be my favourite, it's just straight and... yeah. I haven't listened to American Idiot in a while though, simply because I listened to it three years ago over and over again, and now I'm a bit bored of it ;) Hope they will release their new album soon. Have you heard about their side project, "The Foxboro Hot Tubs"? Time Questions 04:14, 12 September 2008 (EDT)
- Insomniac is awesome; I can totally agree with that. :) I've only had American Idiot for about four months, so I've yet to get bored from it. I can't stop listening to Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Yeah, I hope so too. No, I haven't heard of it; what is it? — Stooben Rooben 04:37, 12 September 2008 (EDT)

Yoshi (series)
Hello, Time Q. I was wondering three things about the article:
- Are there enough game summaries in the article, or should I add one on Super Mario World?
- Are the character bios summarized well? Should there be additional character summaries?
- Your request to add "elements unique to the series" in the article; are you referring to certain things such as the Egg Block, the Yoshis' abilities, etc, or something else/additional?
— Stooben Rooben 10:39, 13 September 2008 (EDT)
- Hi Stooben. I think there are enough game summaries, we don't need one on SMW IMO since it's not part of the Yoshi series. From briefly looking at the character summaries, I think they are all right. As for your last question, yes, I was thinking about this exact thing. For example, there are objects that appear in both Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS, and some of them might also appear in any of the spin-offs (I can't tell, didn't play them). It's just a suggestion, so if you think we don't need this, I'd be fine with it too :) Time Questions 10:51, 13 September 2008 (EDT)
- Awesome, thanks. I've only played YIDS, but I think I can manage to make a "common gameplay elements" section. Granted, it may not be very large, but I'll see what I can do. :) — Stooben Rooben 10:59, 13 September 2008 (EDT)
- Okay, I'm finished. If you think it should be longer/shorter, just let me know. — Stooben Rooben I love doing this stuff. :D 11:38, 13 September 2008 (EDT)

Game Boy Camera
Hey Time. Just wondering, why'd you delete the Game Boy Camera article? OK, so it might have been a trashy article, but Mario did appear in it. Permission to recreate the page? .
- I don't know if it was true what the article said, but assuming it was: It was a cancelled camera? For a cancelled game? This doesn't sound like we need an article about it. BTW, the Camera did exist, so why did it say "cancelled"? But well, if it is relevant enough, of course you may recreate it. I just don't think so :P Time Questions 09:16, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
Re:FAs
I actually wasn't early this time; I was actually about 4 hours late for both... Ganondorf was supposed to be featured at 16:52, and I archived at 20:24. Similar deal with Sir Grodus as well. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
- It is? I thought the wiki was supposed to go by the wiki clock. Because not everybody can automatically convert to EST, but they could look at the clock on the wiki, because it's always there to see. Ah well. Sorry then. Marcelagus (T • C • E) I didn't know.
- By Wiki Clock I meant the times that display on history pages, Recent Changes, and Watchlist. I'm pretty sure they all display the same time, regardless of time zone. Mine says 22:17 right now. (It's based on GMT, I'm pretty sure)Marcelagus (T • C • E)
- Yeah, the time is displayed as 18:14. At first, I thought it was done by time zone, but after looking back at my old talk page archives, I noticed Dom, who lives in Australia, had his signature time at EDT. Now I'm really confused. The signature times and the clock on the wiki itself contradict each other. And I don't see any official thing as to which we're supposed to use, either. Marcelagus (T • C • E)

Hey again; I need some more help. What should I put down after the nominate part and the passed part when nominating an article? --Palkia47 08:53, 20 September 2008 (EDT)
- Did you use the edit field at the page I linked to? If you use it, you get something like this:
__NOTOC__ {{FANOMSTAT |nominated=<!--PUT (APPROXIMATE) TIME OF CREATION OF PAGE HERE IN THIS FORMAT, E.G. 18:42, 11 December 2006--> |passed=<!--WHEN IT IS AT LEAST 5/0, PUT TIME OF 5TH SUPPORT OR REMOVAL OF LAST OPPOSE IN SAME FORMAT--> }} ===[[{{SUBPAGENAME}}]]=== ==== Support ==== ==== Oppose ==== ==== Comments ====
- Then I think you only have to add your vote under the "Support" header. Time Questions 08:59, 20 September 2008 (EDT)

Hello, Time Q, since you are the main author of Club Nintendo related articles, could you take a look on the talk page of Abigor? Mario is Missing
Hey Time Q, im just wondering, is Daisy in MiM? Shadowexe (talk) has been removing everything about it, and I never played the game so I wouldn't know. uper-Yoshi
- There is a person that does look a bit like Daisy, but she is never named in the game, and I doubt it's her. I can't tell for sure though. Time Questions 07:46, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

Re: Removal of Vote
ok I understand that by removing Phailure's oppose vote mine would go out too since I just said "Per Phailure" but doesn't everybody's vote count (I kinda sound like I'm talking about the presidential [<--- Spelled right?] election :P)? King Mario
Hi
^ o ^ Hi Time Q!! ^___^ how are you?! ^___^ Birdoshi
Proposal Deadlines
On the ongoing proposal for World Merges, Stumpers agreed to extend the deadline from today. There is an idea that I have been considering for quite a while, but I came to calling it up on this occasion, and you seemed like the right guy to talk to about it. The Proposal page is used for all kinds of proposals, whether it be merging three articles to one, or changing an entire wiki policy. While there are many levels of importance to the results of these proposals, for some, 7 days may be too short. So, I was thinking that proposals that have a 2 votes or less difference between support and oppose could have an extension to the deadline. I was thinking anywhere from 3 days to 7 for the deadline. However, I realized that proposals with 6 voters total could cause many proposals to be delayed. So, I also thought about making a rule saying that each side(support and oppose) must have at least 7 votes; this would make it clear that enough users are concerned with the subject, and 1 or 2 votes could change everything. While I haven't decided on the numbers of days to extend, I have represented it as "X", and here is what I'm thinking:
- If any proposal, at the time of the deadline, has at least 7 users that are supporting and 7 that are opposing, and the difference of the two is less than 2 votes, there can be an exception of the one week deadline rule. Under the said conditions, if a proposal is not settled, it can be extended for "X" days, thus delaying the deadline.
Please let me know of your feedback, and any changes you'd like to make to the rules, along with a possible number of extension days. Thanks. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
- Hi Garlic, thanks for turning to me with your idea :) I like it and thought about something similar too. Here's what I'm thinking: First, we should allow a deadline delay only once or twice for the same proposal. This is to avoid keeping a proposal for several months, which could theoretically happen. Second, I don't really have an idea about the "X". 7 days might be a bit long, what about 5? Third, "less than 2 votes" means only 0 and 1, not 2, right? We should decide on an exact number. "Two or less" (i.e. two, one, or none) seems the best option to me. Time Questions 10:32, 3 October 2008 (EDT)
- Yes, I had actually intended the delay to only work once(possibly twice?), and that should be the case. I also agree with 2 or less for the vote difference. 5 days extension seems about right, and would give plenty, but not too much time, for a proposal to be settled. Thanks for your opinions on this. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
