Mario is Missing!
I just wanted to say you're doing an awesome job with the Mario is Missing! articles. I tried to make one a while ago, but didn't do too good. (Probably 'cause I haven't played the game. :P) Anyway, did you wanna fix up Tokyo to be as good as the other articles? It's not very descriptive, and doesn't have the pamphlet information on it. — Stooben Rooben 13:21, 3 December 2008 (EST)
- Thanks for the compliment :) (While we're at it, you're doing an awesome job with the Mario (franchise) page as well.) Yes, I'll take care of the Tokyo article as soon as I have reached the city in the game. Time Questions 13:24, 3 December 2008 (EST)

The user Gijsbosten (talk) has changed his username by another as it was an article now. You should revert that, as bureaucrats only have the privilege to change the users' usernames. ¢oincoll€ctor

It Shocks Me...
Please take a look at my edit of the Wario Land: Shake It article. Look at the diff to see how much I had to fix. It seriously looked like a 5-year-old wrote most of it. How can major articles go unfixed for so long? Oh, and I replied to your comment on the Kazooie talk page.
»» In case I forgot to say this before; Congoatulations on becoming a Bureaucrat!
- Cool that you fixed the article, but please don't be so hard on the previous editors. They might be 8 years old, but we should still be thankful to them for providing us with the info (poorly written info is better than no info, IMHO). Nobody is forced to write perfectly here. More Grammar
Just continuing the previous discussion: (but down here so you don't miss it... I have a rule on my talk page that you must always post at the bottom no matter what...)
Yes, I do appreciate the work of the users who started the article and wrote most of it, BUT!... My point is this: It would be fine if they started the article like this, if more experienced and grammatically wise users quickly fixed up the errors. However, this article was left in this humiliating state for ages until I fixed it. So, in that long time, many people would have read it (as it is a game article, therefore one of the most major articles), and probably would have got some very bad impressions about this Wiki being immature and unreliable. So, for the benefit of this Wiki's image and people who understand basic grammar, I think all articles should be checked regularly for grammar, major or minor.
»» Is this new sig finally small enough? Please tell me...
- I can see your point, but that's just the bad thing about wikis, especially ones with relatively few active users like ours: Since nobody is forced to do any work (which surely is a good thing!), there is no guarantee that the information is always correct (let alone grammatically). I agree with you, though, that at least new articles should be checked regularly, and if they're badly written, at least a "rewrite" tag should be placed on top of the article, so guests see that it's not how good articles are supposed to be. I'm no native speaker (so excuse my grammatical errors, lol), so that'd be probably someone else's job.
- As for your sig, as you can see it doesn't completely fit in the sigbox:
- So, to follow the rules, you'd have to make the pics a bit smaller (but no, I wouldn't mind if you just let it be). Time Questions 06:36, 3 January 2009 (EST)
Yeah, that's the bad thing about Wikis - but that's what makes them Wikis. Nothing is perfect. Are there really not many regular active users here? Depends on the definition of 'active'. Would I be classified as active? 0-o
Oh, and for not being a native speaker, you are one of the best writers here, which is a great achievement. All your writing makes perfect sense in English, trust me! And to think that you write so much better than many native speakers here... that shows how dumb they are.
WHAT!? *faints* Still not small enough? *gasp* This is madness! (THIS IS - oh, you know it...) Well, I'll make the left image a tiny bit smaller, even though you said you didn't mind it right now.
Thanks for replying.
»» Do they think people look at sigs through microscopes!? >_>
- I think the number of active users here is alright (yes, I would say you're "active" too, even though there's no particular definition I'm using...), but the wiki could be a lot better if we had more. Oh, thanks for your praise! I really appreciate it. I've mostly had good marks in English lessons, but of course it's a different thing to hear from a native speaker that you're a good writer. ;) But still, calling other users "dumb" seems too harsh for me. Mario is a game series that for the most part attracts young children, so you can't expect them to be perfect writers or have perfect knowledge of English grammar or orthography. They're just trying to help, which is good. Time Questions 07:00, 3 January 2009 (EST)

Just one question...
When I told user 3v3v3 to "not remove reminders/warnings" from his talk page, was I correct when I explained that they are "permanent records" in regards to his overall "editing history" here on the Super Mario Wiki, right? Just making sure. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 19:08, 7 January 2009 (EST)
- Yes, I think so. It's an (unwritten?) law that reminders and warnings should stay on talk pages permanently, so other users know when to give out a reminder (if there are no reminders yet) and when a warning (if there is a reminder already). Time Questions 01:55, 8 January 2009 (EST)

Mt. Teapot FA Nomination
Bloc Partier just intentionally bumped the Mt. Teapot nomination up, thus artificially extending the nomination. I issued him a warning to prevent him from doing something like that again. But we need to figure out what to do about the page, because now the last "edit" is considered today, instead of a few days ago. -- Son of Suns (talk)
- In my opinion, issuing him a warning for doing something that was not explicitly forbidden was too strict, so I'm glad you removed it. As for the page, I don't think it's that much of a problem. I thought about adding a comment to the page after reading the nominated article anyways. Adding the rule to the FA page was a good idea though, Time Questions 13:44, 22 January 2009 (EST)

- Hi! Really? It doesn't confuse me at all (probably 'cause I don't live in an English-speaking country after all...). I'm fine, but very busy at the moment, so I'm not online that much. Time Questions 20:47, 28 February 2009 (EST)

- *interfering* Er, I only know very few articles (by far not "half the articles") that have European names now - a few games and several karts and one track from MKWii (and probably two microgames). Just because Europe (specifically UK/Ireland) was the first English-speaking region that got the affected games - this proposal was made to respect the English-speaking world in a whole rather than preferring American terms. Anyway, not much changed. --Grandy02 09:07, 2 March 2009 (EST)

Club Nintendo Comics
Hello Time Q, I see that you've finished almost all articles on CN comics from regular issues, great work! The translation of the comics is splendid, too, I wonder how you will translate "Holerö." ;-) Anyway, there's something not so nice: I noticed that the operators of e-lation.net already aborted their site on 1st January (there's a notice). It is still online, but all the comic PDFs don't work anymore - since the site is discontinued, I fear they won't come back. Have you saved the files? I saved several, but not all. Or should someone mail the webmaster whether he still has the files? --Grandy02 09:21, 2 March 2009 (EST)
- Hey Grandy. Glad to hear you like my work :) Again, without you creating the Club Nintendo article, I wouldn't be making articles about the comics now! ("Holerö" is going to be a tough one indeed, haha.) As for the missing PDF files, yeah, I noticed that too - I thought it was only a temporary problem. Luckily I saved all the files (that is, the Mario-related ones), so if you need some, let me know. (I even used to have most of the original Club Nintendo magazines, but some years ago, I gave them all away because I thought I wouldn't need them anymore :/). Time Questions 14:18, 2 March 2009 (EST)
- Glad that you saved them! :-) I hope that they come back on the site, though (otherwise we have to remove the links). Oh, too bad what happened with your magazines. You can find a few articles here, there aren't much, but maybe just for nostalgia. By the way, I see that you are one of the very few users who own(ed) Mario's Picross (and who know it "quite good"). I expanded the named article yesterday, maybe you could take a look whether it is understandable how the puzzles work (if you have time for doing so, of course)? --Grandy02 11:58, 4 March 2009 (EST)
- Yeah, awesome work on the Mario's Picross article (even if I haven't read it yet, it looks good, and I'll read it soon). I once planned to expand the article too, but I guess that Club Nintendo and Mario is Missing! are enough work ;) Time Questions 15:59, 4 March 2009 (EST)

I answered your new message on my talk page, but of course we can continue discussing on this page if you want. --Grandy02 18:55, 18 March 2009 (EDT)
I noticed that the site where the pdf files were hosted, emubase.de, has also closed in November 2008, so the comics' absence might have to do something with this site, too - it makes it even more unlikely that they'll ever return. Do you think we should remove the external links from the articles for now? And another question: You know, a lot of articles have a top quote, mostly from the character/species it is about. But not any article on the CN-exclusive characters, even if almost all of them said something. The quotes would be in German rather than English, of course, but I noticed that Roy (SSBM) has a Japanese quote with a translation next to it, so maybe it could be done similarly for CN characters? --Grandy02 15:32, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- That's actually a very good idea. I thought about adding quotes as well, but I wasn't sure about the language. As for the comics: It's such a shame really that they are gone... :( Same with the N-Gang comics, I fear I cannot continue working on the article... So the site was shut down in November 2008? But the comics were available a bit longer, weren't they? And yeah, the links should be removed. Time Questions 17:45, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
- At least one N-Gang comic, namely "Die Ostereier-Situation", can be found on the website of one of the artists, Jürgen "Geier" Speh: Pages 1 2 3 4 5 6. The site also tells which artist had which job for the comic. Well, I still have the Club Nintendo magazines. Maybe I could photograph the pages when I find time for this, so you could at least read and see what they are about for continuing the article (scanning them all would consum too much time for now). But I can't tell you when that'll happen. By the way, "Geier" also worked on the comic "Bumm-Badabumm im Urwald". --Grandy02 15:23, 10 April 2009 (EDT)

By the name of them, I think they are a bit of a problem here, but I'm not sure whether I should list the accounts here, lest the troll go nuts at me :P I've also notified Merit C, Stooben and Super-Yoshi, so I may be a little quick in looking for a solution ^^; Any thoughts on what I should do? :) Neu (edits|talk|irc) 08:14, 4 April 2009 (EDT)
- A "troll", you say? Did (s)he actually break the rules in any way except for sockpuppeting? Well, I think you should tell me the names, so I can block all but one. Time Questions 08:48, 4 April 2009 (EDT)
- Alright, I was a little concerned about posting it out here, lest she find out I betrayed her (I only got them on condition I would "help her spam the wiki", but as if I would do that :P), but here are the names I have;
