The Secret Altar is the last room of Area Four, let alone Luigi's Mansion and its remake. It can be unlocked with the spade key obtained from The Artist's Studio. The Secret Altar has three chandeliers, one of which has a Blue Stone. A stone lion's head is on the west wall, and behind it is the Bottom of the Well, which is where Luigi first sees the room. On the east wall is a mirror flanked by two torches, both of which release treasure. The mirror functions as usual but causes a few minor visual and audio glitches. Mario's painting is at the end of the room, also with a torch on each side. The Secret Altar is the only room that visibly cannot be seen colored on the map when complete.

If the player looks at the Secret Altar from the Bottom of the Well a second time onward, a shorter version of the cutscene without dialogue plays. During the blackout, doing this causes the lights to erroneously go from off to on and with King Boo absent.
