World 1-4 is the fourth normal level of World 1 in New Super Mario Bros. 2. It is the first aerial level in the game and features the new Gold Ring item.
The player starts on a green mushroom platform. Near the starting area, there is a Hidden Block above a tilting mushroom that contains a 1-Up Mushroom. A ring of coins and a green Koopa Paratroopa can be seen circling about a blue platform. A Goomba and two ? Blocks follows, whereby one of them contains a Super Leaf. Further on is a tilting mushroom with a Paratroopa above it. The first Gold Ring of the game can be found next, turning all enemies into gold so that the player can earn more coins. Another ring of coins and two Paratroopas follow, then another tilting mushroom with a blue pipe above it. After that is the checkpoint, where the player can obtain another Super Leaf. More tilting platforms follow along with a red Koopa and a Red Ring, where the player can collect the eight red coins, the eighth coming from a parachute, to get a power-up. This follows with several sets of Brick Blocks and ? Blocks. Following that are more tilting platforms and another Gold Ring. At the end is the Goal Pole.

Just before the checkpoint there is a tilting mushroom with a blue pipe above it. Warping through the blue pipe takes the player to an area with more tilting platforms, a green Koopa Paratroopa, and the Star Coin.

When Mario reaches the sets of blocks mentioned above, he needs to activate a Beanstalk in a hidden block in between the bottom two sets of blocks. This will take the player to an area with coins and a P-Switch. Activating it will turn the coins into Brick Blocks. The player needs to climb the structure to the top where the Star Coin is located as fast as they can.
