Deep-Black Jungle Drift, or World Mushroom-3, is the third level of World Mushroom in Super Mario 3D World and its Nintendo Switch port Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. It is unlocked alongside Spiky Mount Beanpole after completing Night Falls on Really Rolling Hills, and its own completion unlocks Back to Hands-On Hall.

Layout[edit]

This level is a remix of Deep Jungle Drift, and takes place at nighttime in a jungle. Mario begins the level on a wooden platform near four Light Boxes, which are needed to defeat Boos and light up the dark. He must then ride across poison on a wooden raft, where Boos, Big Boos, and Peepas are encountered. After the second group of Peepas, a second wooden platform with five Boos and a Big Boo on it can be found. After the wooden platform, Mario must continue riding on a raft, which will take him down a slope and into three Big Boos. After the Big Boos are defeated, a Warp Box will appear. When Mario enters the Warp Box, he will arrive at the Goal Pole. Beyond the Goal Pole, Captain Toad can be found with three stacks of coins.

Green Stars[edit]

  • Green Star 1: Near the start of the area, above a series of chain-links.
  • Green Star 2: Floating above an invisible platform in the second area.
  • Green Star 3: Above the Warp Box that leads to the Goal Pole. The player needs to use the Beam Boxes and wall jump off the wall to grab this Green Star.
