Flippers[1][2] are Pinball Parts controlled by the player that appear in Pinball, VS. Pinball, and Mario Pinball Land, as well as in certain microgames that appear in the WarioWare series.

History[edit]

Pinball / VS. Pinball / WarioWare Gold[edit]

The flippers from Pinball.

In Pinball and VS. Pinball, flippers are used in scene A and scene B to bounce the ball. The player can operate the left flipper with the +Control Pad Control Pad and the right flipper with the A Button and B Button buttons. The flippers turn invisible after the player earns 100,000 points and become visible again after the player earns 150,000 points.

The same flippers return in the Pinball microgame in WarioWare Gold that is very strongly based on the NES original. The B Button button can no longer be used, but the controls are otherwise the same as in the original.

Mario Pinball Land[edit]

The flippers from Mario Pinball Land.

Flippers reappear in Mario Pinball Land, where they are used to bounce Mario around each board. The player can press L Button or +Control Pad left to control the left flipper, and R Button or A Button to control the right flipper. Like with a regular pinball, Mario's trajectory changes depending on where and how hard the flippers hit him.
