Will this ever come out in america? 98.237.82.127

Currently, this is unknown at the moment. More details will probably follow some time in the future. Until then, just hang on tight. MarioComix (talk) 00:42, 23 February 2013 (EST)
I don't know, it's almost summer and nothing has been heard yet. Did the other MK Arcade games, started out in Japan early, then it turns out it's for other countries? Oh well, the first Mario Kart Arcade game I don't get. :{

Again, be patient. Don't let information droughts discourage you from buying a game; look at Super Smash Bros. 4's incredible drought.

Track references[edit]

Shouldn't they have references, they may have been seen in a trailer, but shouldn't we confirm that just to make sure that the information is accurate? Yoshi876 (talk)

Characters[edit]

For Wario, Waluigi, Bowser Jr., Metal Mario, & Rosalina. should they be confirmed playable, cause I don't see how their emblems are in the game and them not be in their. The photo of Bowser Jr. in-game looks like an unlocking screen of him.

Unlockable!?[edit]

Who are the unlockable, playable characters in GP DX? CRode (talk)

Question[edit]

I'm hearing various people saying it has been released and others saying it hasn't. So has it been released or has it not. If it has please provide a source. Yoshi876 (talk)

It is out in Japan as of this week. L151 (talk)

Okay, do we know whether there were any additional characters? Yoshi876 (talk)
I don't know. Since it's not a higher big-title anticipated game, we have to look around a bit more to see if there are any information.

Okay, I was going to go and update the table, any idea where we could find such information? Yoshi876 (talk)
I don't know... but from looking around a bit, I don't see anything overwhelmingly new.

Miss Pacman, Blinky, Mametchi[edit]

Do we have proof that Miss Pacman, Blinky, and Mametchi won't be in tho game? Any citation would be great. User:YoshiandDaisyrock77

More characters?[edit]

Alright so, we got the character's list and kart lists of the game. Let me see...hmm...GALAXY COMET...METAL SPARK...is it just me or does it scream to Rosalina and Metal Mario? Oh and Sweets Party looks like Ms. Pac-Man's special kart. Hmmmm... Spiny Shell.pngSuperstarxalien169Spiny Shell Reverse.png 19:04, 1 October 2013 (EDT)

Guess what... they are in. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Release in Dave & Buster's restaurants[edit]

In February 16, 2014, Mario Kart Arcade GP DX was released in Dave & Buster's restaurants. See this link: http://www.gonintendo.com/s/222527-mario-kart-gp-dx-more-footage-dave-and-busters-commercial--77.228.198.87 16:51, 22 February 2014 (EST)

Which Dave & Buster's locations are they stocked at? On all of them or some? 173.169.127.190 19:23, 26 March 2014 (EDT)
This web explains that the game is available in all Dave & Buster's restaurants since February 16, when it announced the news until April 2014.--79.159.161.140 14:12, 29 March 2014 (EDT)

Will Daisy make in it?[edit]

OK, as we all know, Metal Mario and Rosalina are downloadable, but I got a scan (maybe fake), that shows Daisy as well as Daisy hills in it...Also, the MKAGPDX website says that 2 new downloadable characters/palletes will come out soon. One of them is already avaiable via qr code User:Ashley anEoTselkie/sig

I'm a bit skeptical of the legitimacy because Rosalina received official artwork for MKAGPDX but the scan doesn't use it. MarioComix (talk) 21:11, 2 December 2014 (EST)
Yeah, I also noted it. Seeing scans of another (true), rumor revealing Rosie and Metal Mario, that used the right artworks, Daisy isn't coming at allUser:Ashley anEoTselkie/sig

Improvements[edit]

So I know there's this mode exclusive to the Japanese version of this game where you select locations in Japan, then race against three other racers using pre-made character/kart combinations. Could that be documented somewhere in the article, or is that standard online multiplayer? Superjustin (talk) 13:13, 24 April 2015 (EDT) There was also a mode added on December 10th, 2020 that allowed players to race while being able to throw infinite Green Shells. While there's no footage of it, it's called, "Midori Koura All-You-Can-Throw." --MysteryMan (talk) 10:09, August 4, 2021 (EDT)

Palette Swap[edit]

Is Baby Peach a palette swap of Baby Mario? Marioguy (talk) 16:05, 30 July 2015 (EDT) I said this since they have matching stats. Marioguy (talk) 16:08, 30 July 2015 (EDT)

Banapassport Card[edit]

If I go to an American Dave & Busters, will I get a Banapassport Card to save my data, or will I have to order one? Crazy Eight in Mario Kart 8 Super Mario User (talk) Mario's head icon in Mario Kart 8 17:31, 12 December 2015 (EST)

Reminder[edit]

Reminder that this game , just like all the past arcade games REUSES DOUBLE DASH VOICES. This means , that people such as Samantha Kelly shouldn't be credited because it's Jen Taylor's voice being reused for Peach since is from Double Dash. The exception for this is Bowser Jr , since he uses his MKWii voice because he is a newcomer unlike characters like Mario , Peach etc.--Swiftie Luma (talk) 14:16, 28 January 2016 (EST)

Has Jen Taylor ever voiced Baby Peach though? Our staff sections seems to credit her when Sam Kelly is the one who has voiced Baby Peach. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 15:50, 28 January 2016 (EST)
It's a good guess to assume that Baby Peach uses her Mario Kart Wii voices, so yes, Sam Kelly should be credited. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:05, 28 January 2016 (EST)
Yeah i forgot about Baby Peach , but i saw Sam as credited as Peach when it's in fact Jen. My whole point was directed to Peach and i think Bowser too , but i forgot Baby Peach was included so i kinda worded all of that wrong. Baby Peach should be Samantha meanwhile Toad and Peach should be Jen. --Swiftie Luma (talk) 19:06, 29 January 2016 (EST)

A Glitch Has Been Discovered![edit]

I got the chance to play the game at GameWorks in Las Vegas for the first half of my Spring Break vacation. I did three races against my family and one race by myself. I was playing as Don-chan and Rosalina was so close to beating me, but I passed her at just the last second and won the race. However, the music if you get 2nd or lower played instead. Something tells me this wasn't supposed to happen. I didn't see this happen in all the other races I tried, just that one. Maybe adding a "Glitches" page might be a preferable option if more are discovered.

American Release[edit]

So judging by the fact that it's been two years after the supposed US release and we still don't have a release date, should we just remove the American release from the info box? Cause here in 2016, it looks really misleading.

Let me rephrase that; when exactly WAS this arcade game released in the US? Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tails777 Talk to me!Sprite of Daisy's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate22:05, 31 August 2016 (EDT)

King Boo's addition[edit]

So uh, are we going to put anything about King Boo's inclusion in the Japanese version of the game on this wiki? Or are we just gonna wait until he's added to the American version?

Luigi1234

He's not even in the Japanese official site yet, so I'd wait to have him included there so we can add the card with his stats.--Mister Wu (talk) 22:29, 19 December 2017 (EST)

Game leak[edit]

Apparently the game was leaked a few days ago, and a patch for it to be playable will be available later on. Don't you think we should include some icons from the games' files now? --Spiny Shell.pngSuperstarxalien169Spiny Shell Reverse.png 12:51, 30 December 2017 (EST)

I would overwrite the item icons with high quality ones which I ripped, but I'm not allowed to. —Atlas (talk) 21:43, 8 January 2018 (EST)
You have to be autoconfirmed to upload images iirc BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 22:18, 8 January 2018 (EST)
Ah, okay. I will upload them soon. —Atlas (talk) 13:59, 20 July 2018 (EDT)

What happened to King Boo?[edit]

I've heard that he was going to be playable in this game, but I don't see him anywhere, even on the official website. What exactly happened to him? Did he get canceled during development, was it just a rumor, or what? Gold Luigi (talk) 04:47, 11 August 2018 (EDT)

If I recall correctly, King Boo was playable during a limited-time event campaign on October 18, 2017 to January 10, 2018. When the player achieved requirements during the event (Bana Passport required), he can be unlocked and playable permanently even after the event ends. I found this information from this forum: http://www.arcadebelgium.net/t4447p25-mario-kart-arcade-gp-dx . - Infinite8 05:39, 11 August 2018 (EDT)
I don't know if you have noticed it, but on the exact same forum, it also has a comment that says that an offline version of the game will be released in early 2017. Of course, since it's 2018 at the time of this writing, this date has passed, and therefore it's been already released. Gold Luigi (talk) 17:41, 14 August 2018 (EDT)

New Cup, New Character[edit]

Donkey Kong Cup is being added (https://twitter.com/4GamerNews/status/1074831709319774208). Lakitu debuts in AGPDX (https://nintendoeverything.com/mario-kart-arcade-gp-dx-adds-lakitu-as-a-new-character-new-courses/). He is a Handling-type driver. 71.70.168.212 22:22, 17 December 2018 (EST)

Character Stats[edit]

I think it's time we start using the official stat designation of the drivers' statistics. What's the point of classifying the characters by weight when it's not a factor in this title? 71.70.168.212 00:54, 27 December 2018 (EST)

Is there an official name for each of the categories? To my knowledge, the weight names were given according to the stat distributions, so... MarioComix (talk) 03:27, 27 December 2018 (EST)

Downloadable characters[edit]

What are the downloadable characters for? How do you get them? DylanTheGameFan (talk) 09:43, 29 December 2018 (EST)

In the original arcade release, none of the downloadable characters were playable. Following gradual updates to the arcade software, the characters became available. I believe the arcade software would need to be updated by the owner of the arcade as the updates are made available. MarioComix (talk) 01:59, 30 December 2018 (EST)

Items left to add in the article[edit]

There's a bunch of items left to add in the article for this game, but I have no idea of what their localized names are, or if all of them even appear in the game (e.g. the Mario Coin "item"). Could someone check in-game, even if only Japanese names can be obtained? --Spiny Shell.pngSuperstarxalien169Spiny Shell Reverse.png 21:56, August 10, 2020 (EDT) EDIT: Turns out we actually have the names for most of them from the character posters. That would leave the normal Mario Coin, and the normal mushrooms. --Spiny Shell.pngSuperstarxalien169Spiny Shell Reverse.png 22:11, August 10, 2020 (EDT)

Edit request[edit]

Can somebody add an update history for this game? Newbie09 (talk) 01:41, December 2, 2021 (EST)

No point. It's an arcade game, not a game for the Nintendo Switch --Partier (talk) 02:04, February 10, 2022 (EST)

I don't see why it can't and shouldn't be added. It's just harder to find update information about it. Wario (Cowboy) from Mario Kart TourWildWario (talk) 02:08, February 10, 2022 (EST)

Character roster in the Japanese version[edit]

Just noting that the Japanese version of this game has been updated very ahead of the international version. A new update just released today, having Bowser Jr. and Waluigi becoming playable from the start. Wario was previously an unlockable character, until the December 10, 2020 update. And the King Boo inclusion in the starting roster (after limited-time event) hasn't been noted yet. I'm going to list the update history as noted from the official Japanese site (for the characters at least):

Game modes[edit]

Game modes in this games depends on the arcade and the location. In my location, there is only VS races and nothing else. --GamerBoy1070 (talk) 23:09, August 9, 2023 (EDT)
