Please remove the delete template. The source given clearly states that ""Nintendo 3DS"(temp) is going to be the new portable game machine to succeed the "Nintendo DS series". This is a separate thing. Uniju :D 18:24, 29 March 2010 (EDT)
- I'm sure it's just a mistake. It's called a Nintendo 3DS, so it can't be a successor. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- I beg to differ. It also clearly states several times that the name "Nintendo 3DS" is a temporary name that is only being used during development. And you obviously won't be able to play 3D games on the old 2D consoles. Besides, it's the only lead we have on the console, why should we assume there is a mistake in it? Uniju :D 18:30, 29 March 2010 (EDT)
- I also forgot about all the Game Boy consoles. All right, I'll remove the tag, but you might want another oppinion before we do anything definite. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- Nintendo made an official announcement, so I think its okay to remove the tag. Even if its not a "successor" it shouldn't be deleted. Yoshario

Merge into Nintendo DS[edit]
I mean the DS lite is merged, the DSi is merged, why not the 3DS. KS3 (talk)
- WHY DONT YOU LOOK BEFORE YOU SAY SOMETHING? I mean, come on! There's a discussion about this right above you! Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- Calm down Reversinator. I agree with KS3, it uses the same games, so it's still a part of the DS series. If this has its own page, then the DSi should also have it. --™ The 'Shroom 10:59, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
- Sorry. It's just that this is about the bajillionth time KS3 has asked to merge something without either looking at previosu discussions or at the article itself. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- Calm down Reversinator. I agree with KS3, it uses the same games, so it's still a part of the DS series. If this has its own page, then the DSi should also have it. --™ The 'Shroom 10:59, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
Honestly, I don't think it's that wrong - he added a header, just a bit extra, not too bad. Besides, this classifies what the discussion on this page is about instead of having a bunch of section less talk like I see everywhere else. Anyhow, yes, if that's how we've been doing it that's how we should do it. Marioguy1 (talk)
I actually think that the DS, DSi and 3DS deserve their own article. Why must they be merged into one article, as the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance have their own? rend (talk) (edits)
- Looking at the Gamey Boy & Game Boy Color having seperate articles despite being not all too different besides the latter being faster and able to display more colours, I actually agree with at least the 3DS deserving its own article, as the differences here seem to be of a comparable degree to the GB/GBC differences, not to mention Mario games are being made specifically to take advantage of the system's capabilities. As evidently not everyone agrees on this, however, perhaps a proposal should be set up and this article reverted to a redirect for the time being (unless it was already made into an article as the result of a proposal, though I don't remember any)?--vellidragon 15:13, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- You know, I compared the normal DS with the Game Boy (as they are the originals), the DSi with the Game Boy Color (as they are advanced versions with own games (although there are no DSi Mario games)), and the Game boy Advance with the 3DS (as they are even more advanced versions with physical additions, and own games as well). The DS Lite and the Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Light are just slightly enhanced versions of the originals with no special additions, as so does the DSi XL, who is just a bigger version of the normal DSi. Maybe there will come an slightly enhanced version of the 3DS, which could be compared with the GBA SP and Game Boy Micro. rend (talk) (edits)
REading Arend's comment, here's what I propose.
- Have Nintendo DS, info about the original, and the Lite versions will be covered here. It will also cover the stylus, and stuff like that
- Have Nintendo DSi, which would cover DSi and DSi XL
- Have Nintendo 3DS.
Thoughts? --™ The 'Shroom 18:42, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Here's my thoughts on this, and they're very simple. The Nintendo 3DS is a SUCCESSOR. It plays COMPETELY DIFFERENT games. If you think THIS should be merged with "Nintendo DS", then holy freaking crap, the Wii should be merged with GameCube because, oh my gawd, it plays Game Cube games.--TheUltimateKoopa 17:38, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Exactly, they shouldn't be merged. The 3DS plays completely different games (in 3D, duh) and Nintendo already said that "The 3DS will not just be an enhancement to the DS, it will be a completely new console."

Hey both of you, look at their date of the argument. Its more than 3 months ago when nt much was known about the 3ds (in fact when it was first annoucned), so that arguement is outdated. They probably know that now.
- ...Oh. Now I feel like such an idiot. I should really look at those dates more often...

Release date[edit]
I'm aware that many of you are aware that A release date of November 20, 2010 has been leaked. No, I did not accidentally hold the Shift button when I said "A release date". I emphasized the "a", because it is not necessarily THE release date. I should also point out that November 20, is only a leaked 'release date', and that we have had absolutely NO confirmation from Nintendo. Therefore, until September 29, i.e. until Nintendo officially announces the release date, please leave the release date in this article's infobox as "TBA". Even if the release date actually turns out to be November 20, 2010.--TheUltimateKoopa 16:21, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

NO VIRTUAL CONSOLE... yet.[edit]
I was fooling around with Google, looking up info on the 3DS, and it said the game boy and game boy color games will NOT be avalible upon release, just thought i could mention this.
References[edit]
I'm no expert on this, but there's a template at the top of the article that says references are required. There's a big section in the middle of the page full of stuff like new capabilities, announced titles, and battery usage, all of which has no references. Isn't that variety of stuff usually to be cited? MPENG · Talk
Recording 3D Video[edit]
From what I see in this video: http://nintendo3dsblog.com/the-nintendo-3ds-can-record-videos-in-3d it is confirmed that the 3DS can recond video. I'm not sure if it's reliable or not, but I just wanted to give a heads up. McQueenMario

- It is a form of motion control. I can't tell you its composition, but it looks like it will be used in upcoming games. For example, in Steel Diver, moving the 3DS changes the viewpoint of your submarine. Mario4Ever (talk)

Bit[edit]
I've found that the Nintendo 3DS uses ARM. Accordind to Wikipedia, all ARMs are 32-bit. So it has a lot less than 256-bits. SWFlash
I think it has to do with the graphics, not the ARM. Toad85
Augmented Reality Games[edit]
Once the 3DS has been in circulation long enough for people to have played the system's current AR games, are these going to be mentioned here in an appropriate section, or will each get its own article? AR Games needs an article[edit]
AR games is mario related with mario things in it(mario, fishbones, green shells, lakitu, bloooper) so it needs an article! SSB stuff is on it so why not AR games?

AR Games[edit]
What exactly are we going to do about making an AR Games article? Several people, myself included, briefly discussed the best solution, but we left it without a clear consensus... Bop1996 (Talk) 13:57, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
- Perhaps we can summarize what the player has to do in each game in general and then mention the Mario-related information where applicable? Mario4Ever (talk) 14:08, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
- That would work, are we going to create a new article or do it on the 3DS section? BLOF suggested using {{Main|article name}} and putting the info on both... Are there any objections to that? Bop1996 (Talk) 14:22, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
- None here. Are we planning on using images from the AR Games themselves? Obviously, any uploaded from the SD card would be in 2D, and I've got one of Lakitu and Blooper, since (using Play Coins) you can unlock the option to take photographs in-game. Mario4Ever (talk) 14:29, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
- We could have one of the Mario AR Card itself, and for the 3D images, we could put a note under the thumbnail saying that the image is 3D, but is displayed here in 2D... Bop1996 (Talk) 14:52, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
- I don't think the thumbnail is necessary (at least in terms of mentioning 3D). Photos are only 3D when the 3D depth slider is on. If a photo is taken in 3D, turning off the depth slider turns it into a 2D image. I think we just need to mention that it is a 2D image. Mario4Ever (talk) 14:56, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
- Ummm, do we use a classify the AR Games as a game, or just a hardware feature like the gyroscope? I only wanted to mention it if the pictures you took were in 3D, if you took them in 2D, then there's no problem there... Bop1996 (Talk) 15:13, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
- I understand that the extent of the Mario related features is the Mario enemies/items in fishing, and the Mario AR card itself... Maybe just listing it as a hardware feature would be best... Bop1996 (Talk) 15:22, 10 April 2011 (EDT)
- Well, Nintendo's website [1] considers them built-in software. As for other Mario-related content, the Graffiti tool allows you to trace Mario's head (I've actually done that and photographed it), and there is a stamp of an 8-bit Mario in that feature as well. In any case, I believe our hands are tied until the proposer takes action. From what I've used of the AR Games, it doesn't appear as if this article, if and when it materializes, will have much in it. BLOF's suggestion will suit this article well. I sent Yoshiyoshiyoshi a message reminding him that he needs to take action... I agree, there's not much we can do, but we can do it well, and that's what matters... I'm going to wait for the proposer to take action, or to ask for help, then I'll work on it. Bop1996 (Talk) 15:55, 10 April 2011 (EDT)

split page 15-0
What?! the first Mario-centered 3DS application gets a only section in the Nintendo 3DS article whereas AR Games, who is not Mario-centered at all, gets a whole article? Pretty obvious why I'm proposing to split it into a whole new article, it even has a sub-page: a gallery to be exact. In case someone opposes this, take in consideration the following: we have articles for Mario Clock and Mario Calculator, the only two Mario-centered DSi applications, and they aren't a mere section on the Nintendo DSi article, in fact, they aren't even mentioned there!

I think the Nintendo eShop should get its own page on the wiki because a lot of the information is dated. The paragraph on this page is mostly about how the eShop was before the Wii U era, there is also a paragraph about the eShop on the Wii U page, but the service is the same. Some games are also exclusive to the eShop, and linking them to a short paragraph on the 3DS page is not a good option then.

I have several questions:
- What kind of content would this Nintendo eShop page have? List of Mario games and their prices?
- What's wrong with linking E Shop-exclusive games to a short paragraph?
- How will creating a separate eShop article solve the problem of being outdated?
- The talk page is located in the Nintendo 3DS section. Will this proposal create an eShop that covers both the 3DS and the Wii U?
- What Nintendo eShop deserving of a separate article like Miiverse and StreetPass Mii Plaza?
- Finally, what games are exclusive to the Nintendo eShop and what are the advantages of creating a separate article rather than listing them out?
It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 17:35, 12 February 2015 (EST)
- 1) The page would describe the service and the list of all available Mario games. No prices, since they are different depending on country/region/currency/offers.
- 2) It's not wrong, it shouldn't be on the 3DS page, it could also be on Nintendo Network page, but it isn't console specific, just like Miiverse.
- 3) Info would be rewritten that it fits for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
- 4) Yes
- 5) It's not console bound and the eShop is playing a bigger role every year for Nintendo and Mario games.
- 6) Various Mario vs Donkey Kong games, Dr. Luigi, NES Remix (not as bundle) and Virtual Console re-releases.
I'm sort of neutral on this, so I'm not going to vote. However, I must mention that if this proposal passes, we will also have to create a separate article for the Wii Shop Channel, due to constancy. Andymii (talk) 18:05, 12 February 2015 (EST)
@The Super Mario Super User: We should probably wait for a New 3DS article until it actually gets some exclusive Mario games. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 13:55, 15 February 2015 (EST)
New 3DS separate article[edit]

don't create 3-7
I just believe that the New Nintendo 3DS deserves to have a separate article, instead of a subheading. I think that it has enough new features (Amiibo support, the C stick, face plates) that it should be considered a new handheld with a similar name (you don't call a Wii U a remake of the Wii). Also, the New 3DS has an XL version, so we could consider that as well.

Oppose[edit]
- LudwigVon (talk) I 'm not sure, but we should wait exclusive games are released. Also, it is not a new console unlike the Wii U, it is only a transitional console (not the successor to the Nintendo 3DS). But, like I say, we should wait until exclusive games are released and maybe we can make a page for the New Nintendo 3DS.
- QBert64 (talk) The New Nintendo 3DS may have different features, but it's more of a transitional console than a successor. But like LudwigVon said, I think we should wait until exclusive games are released.
- Stonehill (talk) Per both.
- SuperYoshiBros (talk) There is no exclusive Mario content on the New 3DS, so why should it deserve a spot on the Mario Wiki?
- Andymii (talk) You know, it's really hard for me to take any side; I feel like I'm splitting hairs. On one hand, this would break consistency with the rest of the 3DSs and force us to make articles for stuff like "Nintendo 3DS XL" or "Nintendo 2DS." Then on the other hand, we have the DSi. Now, unlike the multiple models of the 3DS, the DSi did have an extremely small amount of DSi-only games, sort of making it a different console as opposed to just a newer model. If Nintendo were to make exclusive content only playable on the New 3DS, maybe make an article, but either how, since exclusive games have yet to exist for the New 3DS, I'll oppose.
- Mario4Ever (talk) Per Glowsquid in the comments.
- Magikrazy (talk) I'd be in favor of creating the article when an exclusive Mario/Donkey Kong/Wario title is announced and made, but not now. Per everyone.
Comments[edit]
One one hand, New Nintendo 3DS is similar to Nintendo DSi and Game Boy Color in terms of multiple different features and that some games require Nintendo DSi to work (some games are exclusive to New Nintendo 3DS; see the Xenoblade Chronicles port). The Wii U and Wii analogy doesn't work because the Wii U is considered by Nintendo as another generation. Anyway, do we know all its features yet? It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 01:39, 4 March 2015 (EST)
- We know two of the new features: an additional circle pad on the right hand side and built in amiibo scanner. My personal opinion says we should create a new article for it, but maybe wait until a Mario game exclusive to the system is announced or released. Tails777 Talk to me!
@opposers: Being an upgrade rather than a new generation console doesn't mean they should stay merged. See Nintendo DSi and Game Boy Color. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 18:32, 4 March 2015 (EST)
- If you look at those two consoles, though. You might notice that they Mario games exclusive to those systems (unless the Virtual Console is counted), and some of the opposers (including me) said that we should until some games exclusive games are released for the New 3DS (including Mario games). QBert64
- As far as I'm concerned, the Nintendo DSi lacks any sort of exclusive games outside of apps. The New 3DS does have an exclusive game in the form of Xenoblade Chronicles. I don't know where being a Mario game has to do with how it should be its own article: the wiki mostly creates articles because of significant hardware and software differences and I am sure that having zero Mario games has anything to do whether it has specific Mario apps or not. So it is fair to compare this to the Nintendo DSi, which is also a hardware upgrade from the Nintendo DS, and not comparable to the 2DS which is merely the 3DS in a different shell. 207.233.78.39
- " the wiki mostly creates articles because of significant hardware and software differences and I am sure that having zero Mario games has anything to do whether" Yeah, no. Otherwise every platforms Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong. were ported to would get pages.

The DSi has exclusive Mario-related software (WarioWare Snapped, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!, Mario Clock, and Mario Calculator) which makes the platform's relevant to the wiki's puported statement of covering everything about the Mario franchise, even if three of the before-mentioned titles can't be quite classified as traditional games. The New 3DS is a different system the same way the Gameboy Color is different from the Game Boy, but it doesn't have exclusive Mario content yet. --Glowsquid (talk) 21:06, 4 March 2015 (EST)

The Nintendo DSi is different from the Nintendo DS. It can play games the original DS can't. We have a page for the Nintendo DSi. The New Nintendo 3DS is different from the Nintendo 3DS. It can play games the original 3DS can't. We don't have a page for the New Nintendo 3DS. Does this make sense?

- The Super Mario Super User (talk) Per proposal

Oppose[edit]
- SuperYoshiBros (talk) There's still no exclusive Mario games (or even little apps, like Mario Clock) so there's no reason for it to have a page on the MARIO Wiki.
- Andymii (talk) Same reasons as the proposal's first try: the NN3DS has yet to have unique apps. The DSi did have unique apps, so it deserves its own page.
- BabyLuigi64 (talk) There is one exclusive non-Mario game and that doesn't merit an article, so basically, per Andymii and SuperYoshiBros, the proposal above and Time Turner's comment below.
- RandomYoshi (talk) – The one exclusive New Nintendo 3DS game isn't even a Mario series game. Basically, per SuperYoshiBros and Andymii.
- Lumastar (talk) – Per all. What's even the point of doing this propasal again when nothing's changed between now and then Mario series-wise? When/if we actually get Mario-relatd exclusives on the New Nintendo 3DS we can bring this up then.
- LudwigVon (talk) Per all. Looks like we're going in circles with the proposals , it actually several proposal that we have with a second try, I start to think that there should be a rule about that. Also with what I said in the first proposal .
- Pyro Guy (talk) Change of vote. Per my first proposal and SuperYoshiBros.
- Bazooka Mario (talk) There has been no new compelling reasons to refresh this argument.
- Magikrazy (talk) Again, no. Again, per.
- Bwburke94 (talk) Per all. I am also eventually proposing a DSi into DS merge, but that's a long ways away and it will likely fail anyway.
Comments[edit]
For the same reasons stated above: there's only one real exclusive game to it and it's not even a Mario series game. Maybe when a Mario game comes out for it, then we'd create an article. Again, I'd support this, but perhaps not yet. Tails777 Talk to me!
We have a page on all the Smash Bros. characters. They don't appear in any Mario games. They appear in Smash Bros. games. Smash Bros. games are not Mario games. Can someone explain THAT to me? King Koopa (talk) 11:37, 10 July 2015 (EDT)
- Characters and consoles are two completely different elements, and how they're covered should not be compared. If you want an answer as to why the Smash characters are covered, see here. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
Pyro Guy (talk), King Koopa is me, Super Mario Super User. I want to change names to King Koopa, but I have to wait 'till October. King Koopa (talk) 17:30, 10 July 2015 (EDT)
- Then you should not create a misleading signature until you get an actual name change in October, seeing as you're violating the signature policy. It's pretty irrelevant to this proposal, but just a heads up. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 21:13, 11 July 2015 (EDT)
3DS launch date in Greece[edit]

No successor?[edit]
Is that really true? The 3DS is not Nintendo's most recent console, it was made before the Wii U. Therefore, the Wii U would be the successor. MarioKid (Talk) 21:47, 29 May 2016 (EDT)
- The Nintendo 3DS is the latest handheld generation; the Wii U isn't the 3DS's successor either, they're different types of hardware. Ray Trace(T|C) 23:54, 29 May 2016 (EDT)
- Not only that, successors are considered "replacements", not something that came before it (even though that doesn't make much sense in the world of gaming but many people consider video games software and not games). The 3DS and Wii U coexist, just like the GB and SNES coexisted, the GBC and N64 coexisted, the GBA and GCN coexisted, and the DS and Wii coexisted. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 00:10, 30 May 2016 (EDT)
Successor: Nintendo Switch ?[edit]
Considering Nintendo Switch being a hybrid console, should we consider the Switch, both 3DS and Wii U's successor? --(TALK) 10:28, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
- It's been confirmed that the Nintendo Switch is neither the successor to the Wii U, nor to the 3DS. Aidanzapunk (talk) 10:47, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
- Let's see what else it has to offer before we say it is a successor of either Wii U or 3DS. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 10:52, 20 October 2016 (EDT)

Don't split 1-13
I saw only one New 3DS-exclusive game: Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition. Six games enhanced for the New Nintendo 3DS systems are Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Mario Party: Star Rush, and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World.

- Alex95 (talk) - One non-Mario exclusive game that we cover on a collective page doesn't seem like enough. Enhanced mechanics can easily be covered on the game pages themselves. Per previous proposals above.
- TheFlameChomp (talk) Per Alex. According to the Minecraft article, Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition doesn't actually have the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack, so I don't feel we should cover the New Nintendo 3DS just because of that.
- Ultimate Mr. L (talk) Per Alex95, TheFlameChomp and the two previous failed proposal.
- Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) Pinky Kong is Stinky Kong and should not get its own article, and neither should this. Just yet. Besides, what does "can only be played" mean here? I've heard people say the Zelda/Dynasty Warriors game Hyrule Warriors Legends can't be played on a 3DS, but I've played it on my first-wave 3DS many times and it works just fine.
- LuigiMaster123 (talk) Per all.
- Baby Luigi (talk) Per all.
- Owencrazyboy9 (talk) Strongly oppose. The opposition above my vote has good comments about the situation, so per all.
- Yoshi the SSM (talk) Per all.
- Toadette the Achiever (talk) Per all.
- YoshiFlutterJump (talk) Okay, the proposal was moved. Well, per my previous vote. And, well, okay, there is one game. But that one game does not contain the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack like the Wii U and Switch versions, so I don't even know why we cover it here.
- Waluigi Time (talk) Per my original vote.
- Lcrossmk8 (talk) Again, there's not much of a difference between the overall basic structure of the Nintendo 3DS and the New Nintendo 3DS---they are both Nintendo 3DSes, for lack of a better statement. In fact, to go even further with that fact, the 3DS and New 3DS are both Nintendo DSes in general. Also, I am going to go with what everyone else said. I think I have officially made my point clearly understood, thank you very much. hat tip
- LudwigVon (talk) Per all. There is no big difference between the original 3DS and the New 3DS. They are all part of what is called by Nintendo, the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. For me, the New Nintendo 3DS is more like an improvement of the original system, like PS4 vs. PS4 Pro or Xbox One vs. Xbox One X from other companies.
Comments[edit]
@Doc von Schmeltwick: "Can only be played on New Nintendo 3DS" means the game can only be played on New Nintendo 3DS. Hyrule Warriors Legends can be played on a regular 3DS, but the performance will be much slower. Games like Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles 3D are exclusive to the New Nintendo 3DS system. There are no Mario games exclusive to the New Nintendo 3DS, so there's no point for us to give it an article of its own. 18:41, 12 December 2017 (EST)
- Performance seemed perfectly fine to me, things just didn't render in as thick droves as they did in the Wii U version. Anyways, yeah, unless some exclusives for Mario are released then. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:47, 12 December 2017 (EST)
Proposal Above[edit]
I know I'm very late, but I just saw this proposal. I don't get how it failed. The DSi is split from the DS. Seems like the same principle to me. DKPetey99TCE
- Section needs expanded, but there are DSi enhanced Mario games. And because of the exclusive internet that the regular and Lite DS's don't have, there are Mario exclusive DSiWare games as well. The New Nintendo 3DS does enhance some games, but there isn't anything exclusive that is a Mario game. 22:23, 13 January 2018 (EST)
New pages[edit]
Should we make more pages on the rest of the 3DS family like how you made the Nintendo DSi it's own page. YoshiFan08 (talk) 06:14, June 15, 2019 (EDT)
Emulator Screenshots[edit]
So is it ok to use emulators (such as Citra) to take screenshots of 3ds games? I was wondering if making screenshots 10x native is ok or not since the models and stuff are still official, they are just upscaled? Another thing, is there a way to make sprites (such as the hud for most games) to not look blurry when using 10x native? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 18:32, November 30, 2021 (EST)
- The original resolution is still preferred since these emulator gadgets are not official and counts as fan-edits. Nightwicked Bowser 18:35, November 30, 2021 (EST)
- @Swallow, well several Wii and Gamecube games use emulators to get higher quality screenshots. I do not see why we can’t use 10x native screenshots for 3DS games, while most other consoles such as Gamecube and Wii can do it just fine. Mind explaining why those are ok but not higher resolution 3DS screenshots (I also think this applies for the original DS as well)? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 00:15, December 2, 2021 (EST)
- I wouldn't mind if someone else explains this more clearly since I'm not an expert on the situation, but I imagine those are still faithful to the original quality compared to the 3D Land images you took. Nightwicked Bowser 06:37, December 2, 2021 (EST)
- It's not forbidden to upscale the resolution of screenshots, especially in lower res GameCube and N64 games to show-off the detail of the images better but original resolution is still preferred. In addition, there is no way to make HUD not look blurry when upscaling them, since they are a set size (in something like Super Mario 64, they're likely 32 or 64 in a dimension max); this is equivalent of taking an image and upscaling its size. Only way to make HUD not look blurry is to redraw them, something Super Mario 64 in the 3D All Stars collection does or HD hud packs done by fans, something which is not allowed on the wiki. Ray Trace(T|C) 16:05, December 4, 2021 (EST)
- @Ray Trace, so is it ok to use 10x native 3ds screenshots then? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 17:42, December 4, 2021 (EST)
- Upload screenshots at their native resolution. Ray Trace(T|C) 20:24, December 4, 2021 (EST)
- Ok, the ones I did take are higher resolution so sorry about that. Should we make a proposal about if it is ok to upload 3ds screenshots above their native resolution? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 21:16, December 4, 2021 (EST)

How To Rip 3DS Models?[edit]
How do you rip models from 3DS games? I use Citra for emulation and I would like to rip model from 3D Land and the 3DS remakes of Yoshi’s Woolly World and Mario & Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story primarily so it would be nice if I could get help on that. Also I am trying to get models not on The Models Resource if that is cool. Any model software is fine (but I kinda use Blender) so just tell me the easiest way to rip models from these 3DS games (as well as there textures). MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 02:24, December 5, 2021 (EST)
- If anyone is willing to help me with model uploading or uploading them for me that would be nice (I mainly want the Mole models from Super Mario 3D Land and the 3ds remakes of Bowser’s Inside Story and Yoshi’s Woolly World). MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 14:11, December 5, 2021 (EST)
- Ripping models from these games requires knowledge of what format they are in, as different games use different model formats and may have different methods on how to get them working. Citra can dump the game's content by right clicking on the title and clicking on dump content, but you may not be done there because as I said, it depends on the game. Something like Yoshi's New Island have models compressed into .bch.z format, which requires ntcompress.exe to decompress models into uncompressed bch (and using ntcompress.exe requires basic knowledge on how to operate command prompt as well as configuring your PC's registry to open command prompt via shift + right click on Windows Explorer in a desired directory), which Ohana 3DS can read (and possibly have textures inside model files), plus can additionally export as 3D models if you really want to use Blender. Having Blender read textures requires that you know how to import textures into Blender.
- Before you ask, I will not further assist in step-by-step acquiring models. I am telling you right now the exact steps you need to know in the simplest manner. Ray Trace(T|C) 02:37, December 7, 2021 (EST)
