Template:Species-infobox A Pointy Tucks (also called Pointy Tuck) is a variant of Tucks appearing in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They are penguin members of the Snowmads, and they wear a golden viking helmet. In addition, they wear a leather collar with the Snowmad symbol. Compared to regular Tucks, Pointy Tucks appear to have a less crooked posture.

Pointy Tucks have a shielded variant known as Trench Tucks. Papa Painguins are spear-wielding enemies with viking helmets akin to those worn by Pointy Tucks, protecting them in the same way.

History

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

In the game's intro, a Pointy Tucks spots Donkey Kong Island through a telescope. After inspecting it more closely and finding Donkey Kong's hut, the Tucks immediately rushes to his leader, Lord Fredrik, to report the findings.

Pointy Tucks are common enemies throughout the Kongs' adventure. They simply walk from side to side, as with a handful of other enemies. Pointy Tucks cannot be jumped on, as their helmets protect them from being jumped on and cause the Kongs to take damage. The Kongs can defeat a Pointy Tucks by attacking it with a roll, Rambi, Cranky Kong's Cane Bounce, or an object such as a barrel. The enemy can be stunned briefly by shooting it with a popgun or by performing a ground pound next to it.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

A Pointy Tucks, referred to as a "Pointy Tuck", is depicted as a Donkey Kong series trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The trophy's North American description implies that Papa Painguins are actually Pointy Tucks with spears, despite Papa Painguins wearing a belt instead of a collar and being visibly more stout and hunched.

The big horns on their helmets will make you think twice about jumping on them, and if they spot you, they'll charge at you with their spears. Slapping the ground stuns them, though. Take that chance to roll them into oblivion! When the Snowmad army invades DK Island in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, there penguin-like foes make up just part of its troops. The big horns on their helmets will make you think twice about jumping on them, but in the original game, you can defeat them by rolling or throwing barrels.
