Bee Mario is a transformation in Super Mario Galaxy that was revealed in E3 2007. When Mario touches a round floating mushroom with yellow and black stripes, he will turn into Bee Mario. When Mario puts on this suit, he will be able to fly like a bee for a short time (and will look like a bee as well). Mario will use this transformation for the first time in the Honeyhive Galaxy. It will also let Mario land on flower petals and clouds that he would normally sink through and climb up honeycombs. Bee Mario will also to ground pound in the air, sticking enemies with his stinger. (This ability is essential in the battle with Bugaboom.) Bee Mario, however, will transform back into Mario after either taking damage or touching water.
