Paper Mario is a stage appearing in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. The stage is based upon the Paper Mario series of Mario games, being a transforming stage based upon various locations from the series.

The players start in the windmill area of Hither Thither Hill from Paper Mario: Sticker Star; the area with the windmill is a drop-off, while the other end is a walk-off point; while the game is paused, the player can see the exit to the area as it would appear in the game. The spinning blades of the windmill act as a platform that rotates when the player stands on it, as does the cloud floating in the air by a string above. Occasionally, the Fan thing appears, blowing players to the other end of the stage. A Warp Pipe also appears near the windmill, which acts as a trampoline.

After a while, the stage transforms in the S.S. Flavion from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The ship features three platforms on the masts, also rocking as it sails in the ocean. Occasionally, the Whale from the original Paper Mario appears and holds the ship over it with its blowhole. A Big Blooper will also show up and rock the ship with its own waves.

After this, the stage transforms once again into Bowser's Sky Castle, once again from Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Two platforms that fly up and down appear on both sides of the stage for players to stand on; they may also stand on top the Bowser head on the entrance, as well as inside of it where the entrance is. After a while, the Bowser entrance's eyes glow and it beings to rotate; the mouth can also shut during this. After this, the stage reverts to Hither Thither Hill.

The Final Destination variation of this stage is set on a flat, grassy plain; the windmill can still be seen in the background, though it has no bearing on the stage itself.

Tips

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

"Bowser's metal face will appear and spin in the sky. If his eyes turn red, it's a good time to run!"

"Watch out for the gigantic fan on the part of the stage that is on land. It's much easier to be launched to the right when it spins!"

"A Big Blooper will appear on the ocean stage. Don't worry—it won't attack. It will rock the ship, though, generating some waves."
