Ghost Valley 3 is the third course in Special Cup in Super Mario Kart. It was subsequently reused in Mario Kart: Super Circuit as the second track in the Extra Special Cup. It contains holes in the course and barely has any side-rails. The course reappears in Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and is the second track in the Extra Special Cup. It uses the background from Broken Pier. The zipper and the legs to hold up the track are removed and an extra item box can be found after the second jump line. Coin placements in the Mario Kart: Super Circuit version have been changed compared to the original version.

Layout

Ghost Valley 3 is themed like the Ghost Valley 1 and Ghost Valley 2 tracks: racers drive around a wooden, dark bridge surrounded by Boos. Being the final Ghost Valley track, it has the sharpest, 90 degree turns, narrow-driveways that can cause drivers to fall and get retrieved by Lakitu, and being the only Ghost Valley course to have large holes in the road itself. As in all Ghost Valley courses, side-rails break upon hitting them, which exposes racers to drops; the course has less side-rails than the first two Ghost Valley courses. Ramps are also a regular feature in Ghost Valley courses; in Ghost Valley 3 they are placed behind holes to cause players to fall into them.
