List of Mario Kart Wii tournaments

This is a complete list of Mario Kart Wii Competitions (Tournaments in America) that have been held on the Mario Kart Channel so far. Two competitions are held each month, starting in May of 2008. The first competition of each month lasts from the 1st to the 10th of that month, and the second lasts from the 15th until the 25th.

As of May 2010, almost all competitions are repeats of competitions held before that date.

2008 Competitions

	May 2008 Competition 1 – The first Competition was a Grand Prix-styled race on Mario Circuit with Chain Chomps running loose on the track, along with extra Goombas roaming around. It was repeated as the first competition of May 2010, but with some differences.
	May 2008 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on GBA Battle Course 3. The player had to drive through ten numbered gates that were placed on the track in order. It was repeated as the second competition of May 2010 and November 2011.
	June 2008 Competition 1 – This Competition was set on Galaxy Arena/Colosseum, which is a stage unique to the Competition. On it, the player had to defeat four Spiky Topmen by knocking them off of the platform using Mushrooms. It was repeated twice (once in June 2009's second competition, and then again in March 2010's second competition), but with various differences.
	June 2008 Competition 2 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on Mushroom Gorge. The player had to get the fastest possible time; however, the player had to drive backwards for the entire course. The mushroom platforms were also placed at different locations. It was repeated as the first competition of June 2010 and December 2011.
	July 2008 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Coconut Mall. The player had to collect all 50 coins in the least time possible. It was repeated as the first competition of July 2010 and second competition of December 2011.
	July 2008 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on DS Twilight House. The battle course had a finish line included for this Competition. It was a VS race against other CPU players around the rooms of the house, and the player would have to win after five laps. It was repeated as the second competition of July 2010.
	August 2008 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on N64 D.K.'s Jungle Parkway. The player had to race against Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, who were constantly throwing bananas on the track. The only items available were Green Shells, Triple Green Shells, and occasionally a Star. It was repeated as the second competition of December 2009.
	August 2008 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Koopa Cape. The player had to drive through all 25 gates in order. It was repeated as the second competition of August 2010 and January 2012.
	September 2008 Competition 1 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on N64 Skyscraper. The battle included a finish line for this Competition. Players had to finish in the least time possible. Colliding with Bomb-Car would lead to time lost. It was repeated as the first competition of September 2010 and February 2012.
	September 2008 Competition 2 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on SNES Mario Circuit 3. The player had to collect all the coins on the track in the least time possible. It was repeated as the first competition of October 2010 and the second competition February 2012.
	October 2008 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Thwomp Desert. The player had to use Bob-ombs to defeat the giant Pokey, who attacked by throwing segments of its body at the player. It was repeated as the second competition of September 2009.
	October 2008 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only and Karts Only – This Competition took place on Luigi Circuit. The player had to race CPUs, but there were no items for this Competition. It was repeated as the first competition of March 2010, but with some differences. However, it was repeated as the second competition of October 2010, with no changes at all.
	November 2008 Competition 1 – This tournament took place on Maple Treeway. The player had to collect all fifteen coins that were hidden in the leaves in the least time possible. Four Wigglers were roaming the area for this Competition. It was repeated as the first competition of November 2010 and March 2012.
	November 2008 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on N64 Mario Raceway. The player had to finish the course in the least time possible. Only Golden Mushrooms would appear in Item Boxes. Many obstacles from other race courses also appeared in this Competition. Obstacles include oil from SNES Mario Circuit 3 and Pokeys from Dry Dry Ruins and DS Desert Hills. Additionally, extra Piranha Plants were on the course as well. It was repeated as the second competition of November 2010 and March 2012.
	December 2008 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Wario's Gold Mine. The player had to get past a rampaging Wiggler that was roaming around the course within 3 laps. Only Triple Mushrooms and Stars would appear in Item Boxes. It was repeated as the second competition of September 2010.
	December 2008 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on DK Summit. The player had to go through all 25 gates on the course. It was repeated as the second competition of December 2010 and the first competition of April 2012.

2009 Competitions

	January 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Toad's Factory. The player had to drive through the course, which was backwards, as quickly as possible. Item Boxes contained Mushrooms. It was repeated as the first competition of January 2011 and second competition of April 2012.
	January 2009 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Funky Stadium. The player had to collect all 60 coins on the track. All Item Boxes contained Mushrooms. It was repeated as the second competition of January 2011 and first competition of May 2012.
File:2009-TournamentFebruary1-1.jpg	February 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Block Plaza. It was a time trial race around the edge of the course. Some of the paths were blocked, so the player had to use the slopes to proceed. The player was given Triple Mushrooms to start the Time Trial, and obstacles include Goombas, pipes, and oil. It was repeated as the first competition of February 2011 and second competition of May 2012.
	February 2009 Competition 2 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on GBA Bowser Castle 3. The player had to go through all 30 gates placed in various locations along the course. It was repeated as the second competition of February 2011 and first competition of June 2012. Note: Information about this tournament was accidentally given for February 2009's first competition instead of the correct one for Block Plaza.
	March 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on SNES Battle Course 4. The player had to collect all 50 coins in the area. Extra hazards such as oil were on the course. It was repeated as the first competition of March 2011 and second competition of June 2012.
	March 2009 Competition 2 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on N64 Bowser's Castle. The player had to race against Dry Bowser, who was given the ability to spit out fireballs. Items that appeared include Mushrooms, Triple Banana Peels, Stars, and Triple Green Shells. It was repeated as the second competition of June 2010, but with some differences. However, it was repeated as the second competition of March 2011, with no changes at all.
	April 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on GCN Waluigi Stadium. The player had to race through all 25 gates placed around the course. It was repeated as the first competition of April 2011 and July 2012.
	April 2009 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on DS Peach Gardens. This time trial race added additional Chain Chomps and Monty Moles, and all Item Boxes contain Mushrooms. It was repeated as the second competition of April 2011 and July 2012.
	May 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Luigi Circuit during a sunset (like in the game credits). It was a VS race in which the player had to avoid the Bomb-Cars.
	May 2009 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on Chain Chomp Wheel. The player had to collect all 100 coins while avoiding the Chomps. Item Boxes contained Mushrooms, Mega Mushrooms, and Stars. It was repeated as the first competition of May 2011 and August 2012.
	June 2009 Competition 1 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on Grumble Volcano. It was a time trial race around the course backwards. The player started out with a set of Triple Mushrooms. It was repeated as the second competition of May 2011 and August 2012.
	June 2009 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Galaxy Arena/Colosseum. The player had to push all six Spiked Topmen off the stage. However, as time progressed, portions of the stage fell off. All item boxes contained Triple Mushrooms.
	July 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on GCN Peach Beach. The player had to collect all 70 coins that were scattered on the beach. Cataquacks also appeared, and the Item Boxes contained Green Shells. It was repeated as the first competition of June 2011.
	July 2009 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on DS Yoshi Falls. It was a VS Race, but mushrooms from Mushroom Gorge appeared in the course.
	August 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place at GBA Shy Guy Beach. The player had to go up against a swarm of Sidesteppers and defeat 30 of them, like they did in one of the Mario Kart DS missions. The left item box contained Stars. The center item box contained Triple Green Shells. The right item box contained Bob-ombs. It was repeated as the second competition of June 2011 and the first competition of September 2012
	August 2009 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Wii Bowser's Castle. It was a time trial race containing several hazards, such as Swooper swarms, more lava springs, and scattered boxes. Thwomps were also placed at different spots, preferably spots that were more likely to hinder the player. The spinning firebars also moved faster than before. The player started out with a set of Triple Mushrooms. It was repeated as the first competition of July 2011.
	September 2009 Competition 1 – Bikes Only – This Competition took place on GCN Cookie Land. The player faced off against the four baby characters in a 5-lap race. The official description said that "Branching paths are the key to the contest!"
	September 2009 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Thwomp Desert. The objective was exactly the same as October 2008's first Competition.
	October 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on GCN Mario Circuit. It was a time trial race with additional enemies, mostly Piranha Plants, which were placed on the road. There was only one Item Box, which contained a Mushroom. The player didn't start with any items. It was repeated as the second competition of July 2011.
	October 2009 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Daisy Circuit. The player had to go through a total of 22 gates, which were placed around the figure-8 area of the track. A single Mushroom was placed around the starting area. It was repeated as the first competition of August 2011.
	November 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Dry Dry Ruins. It was a VS Race, in which all Item Boxes contained mushroom items; Mushrooms, Triple Mushrooms, Golden Mushrooms, and Mega Mushrooms. Also, some Pokeys were added on some of the usable shortcuts.
	November 2009 Competition 2 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on Rainbow Road. The player had to race 3 laps, while avoiding the Chain Chomps and Chomps. The player started the race with a set of Triple Mushrooms. The official description stated, "Anticipating their movements and avoiding them is the key to a good score." The objective was repeated as the first competition of December 2010, but with no restrictions. The second competition of August 2011 was the same as this one, and it kept the karts only restriction.
	December 2009 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on DS Desert Hills. Using items from the Item Boxes, racers had to defeat a total of 10 Pokeys, which were wandering around the course, just as they did in one of the Mario Kart DS missions. The first and third set of Item Boxes contained Stars, while the second set contained Triple Green Shells.
	December 2009 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on N64 D.K.'s Jungle Parkway. The objective was exactly the same as August 2008's first Competition.

2010 Competitions

	January 2010 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Delfino Pier. It was a time trial race, where as time progressed, new paths opened up. The water level rose slowly along the way. Goombas also appeared on the track. Item Boxes contained Green Shells and Mushrooms. The player didn't start with any items. It was repeated as the first competition of September 2011.
	January 2010 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on GCN DK Mountain. The player had to pass through 20 gates, and the bridge was replaced with two red mushrooms from Mushroom Gorge. It was repeated as the second competition of September 2011.
	February 2010 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on N64 Sherbet Land. It was a three lap GP race, with more penguins, and some boxes were also added onto the track.
	February 2010 Competition 2 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on Mario Circuit. The player had to defeat a total of 16 Goombas, using only Stars and Green Shells. It was repeated as the first competition of October 2011.
	March 2010 Competition 1 – Bikes Only and Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on Luigi Circuit. It was the same as the October 2008 second Competition, except bikes were used instead of karts.
	March 2010 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Galaxy Colosseum. The player had to push a total of 6 large Topmen off the battlefield. However, some of the Topmen would run away. Triple Mushrooms were the only items used.
	April 2010 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on GCN Peach Beach. It was a time trial race, where players ran over the Mushroom Gorge mushrooms in the sea. The player didn't start with any items, nor were there any item boxes. It was repeated as the second competition of October 2011.
	April 2010 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Moonview Highway. It was a time trial race, in which all the vehicles were going the opposing direction on all sides of the road. Players started the race with a set of Triple Mushrooms. It was repeated as the first competition of November 2011.
	May 2010 Competition 1 – Karts Only and Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on Mario Circuit. It was the same as the May 2008 first Competition, with the mere exception that there was a vehicle restriction and a control scheme restriction.
	May 2010 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on GBA Battle Course 3. The objective was the same as in the May 2008 second Competition.
	June 2010 Competition 1 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on Mushroom Gorge. The objective was the same as that of the June 2008 second Competition.
	June 2010 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on N64 Bowser's Castle. The objective was the same as that of the March 2009 second Competition, but without any vehicle restrictions.
	July 2010 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Coconut Mall. The objective was the same as that of the July 2008 first Competition.
	July 2010 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on DS Twilight House. The objective was the same as that of the July 2008 second Competition.
	August 2010 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on DS Delfino Square. It was a time trial race, but with the addition of Goombas, crates, and dead end routes. Players started the race with a set of Triple Mushrooms. It was repeated as the first competition of January 2012.
	August 2010 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Koopa Cape. The objective was the same as that of the August 2008 second Competition.
	September 2010 Competition 1 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on N64 Skyscraper. The objective was the same as that of the September 2008 first Competition.
	September 2010 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Wario's Gold Mine. The objective was the same as that of the December 2008 first Competition.
	October 2010 Competition 1 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on SNES Mario Circuit 3. The objective was the same as that of the September 2008 second Competition.
	October 2010 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only and Karts Only – This Competition took place on Luigi Circuit. The objective was the same as that of the October 2008 second Competition.
	November 2010 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Maple Treeway. The objective was the same as that of the November 2008 first Competition.
	November 2010 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on N64 Mario Raceway. The objective was the same as that of the November 2008 second Competition.
	December 2010 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Rainbow Road. The objective was the same as that of the November 2009 second Competition.
	December 2010 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on DK Summit. The objective was the same as that of the December 2008 second Competition.

2011 Competitions

	January 2011 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Toad's Factory. The objective was the same as that of the January 2009 first Competition.
	January 2011 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Funky Stadium. The objective was the same as that of the January 2009 second Competition.

	August 2011 Competition 2 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on Rainbow Road. The objective was the same as that of the November 2009 second Competition and the December 2010 first Competition.
	September 2011 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Delfino Pier. The objective was the same as that of the January 2010 first Competition.
	September 2011 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on GCN DK Mountain. The objective was the same as that of the January 2010 second Competition, but without any control restrictions.
	October 2011 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Mario Circuit. The objective was the same as that of the February 2010 second Competition.
	October 2011 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on GCN Peach Beach. The objective was the same as that of the April 2010 first Competition.
	November 2011 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Moonview Highway. The objective was the same as that of the April 2010 second Competition.
	November 2011 Competition 2 – Wii Wheel Only – This Competition took place on GBA Battle Course 3. The objective was the same as that of the May 2008 and May 2010 second Competitions.
	December 2011 Competition 1 – Karts Only – This Competition took place on Mushroom Gorge. The objective was the same as that of the June 2008 second Competition and June 2010 first Competition.
	December 2011 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Coconut Mall. The objective was the same as that of the July 2008 and 2010 first Competitions.

2012 Competitions

	January 2012 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on DS Delfino Square. The objective was the same as that of the August 2010 first Competition.
	January 2012 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Koopa Cape. The objective was the same as that of the August 2008 and 2010 second Competitions.
	February 2012 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on N64 Skyscraper. The objective was the same as that of the September 2008 and 2010 first Competitions.
	February 2012 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on SNES Mario Circuit 3. The objective was the same as that of the September 2008 second Competition and October 2010 first Competition.
	March 2012 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Maple Treeway. The objective was the same as that of the November 2008 and 2010 first Competitions.
	March 2012 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on N64 Mario Raceway. The objective was the same as that of the November 2008 and 2010 second Competitions.
	April 2012 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on DK Summit. The objective was the same as that of the December 2008 and 2010 second Competitions.
	April 2012 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Toad's Factory. The objective was the same as that of the January 2009 and 2011 first Competitions.
	May 2012 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Funky Stadium. The objective was the same as that of the January 2009 and 2011 second Competitions.

	July 2012 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on GCN Waluigi Stadium. The objective was the same as that of the April 2009 and 2011 first Competitions.
	July 2012 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on DS Peach Gardens. The objective was the same as that of the April 2009 and 2011 second Competitions.
	August 2012 Competition 1 – This Competition took place on Chain Chomp Wheel. The objective was the same as that of the May 2009 second Competition and May 2011 first Competition.
	August 2012 Competition 2 – This Competition took place on Grumble Volcano. The objective was the same as that of the June 2009 first Competition and May 2011 second Competition.

Trivia

• February 2009's first Competition was the first competition where players had been given false competition information.
• November 2009's second competition may be based on Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road course with Chomps.
• April 2010's second competition is similar to Mario Kart 64's Toad's Turnpike in Flower Cup Mirror Mode (known as EXTRA) where all the vehicles are going in the opposite direction.
• The competitions are similar to Mission Mode from Mario Kart DS.
• With a total of one hundred four competitions currently, SNES Ghost Valley 2 and Moo Moo Meadows are the only tracks to not have a competition yet.
