The Beast Is Back Tour was a promotional event organized by Nintendo to promote Donkey Kong 64. The tour involved a large truck containing twelve Nintendo 64 systems (each featuring a copy of Donkey Kong 64), a person in a Donkey Kong costume, and presumably Donkey Kong 64-related merchandise. Visitors also apparently had the opportunity to "practice their ape calls".

Without a doubt, Donkey Kong has to be the hardest working gorilla in show business. He just wrapped up work on his cross-country Beast Is Back tour, and now he's busy fighting King K. Rool in his recently released 3D adventure Donkey Kong 64. Doesn't this dude sleep?

The official Beast Is Back truck was stocked with 12 Nintendo 64 systems featuring brand-spankin' new copies of Donkey Kong 64. The truck stopped at various hot spots across the country, giving gamers a chance to preview DK's latest game, practice their ape calls and grab cool DK loot.

We've compiled some funky photos from DK's adventures, from the windy streets of Chicago to the slippery sidewalks of Seattle. Click on the cities listed below to view snapshots from each metropolitan invasion.
