The Work Elevator (also lowercased)[1] is a lift in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. It is found only in the Hazy Maze Cave. The Work Elevator is a large flat platform with four arrow-emblazoned buttons that is specifically utilized during the mission Elevate for 8 Red Coins. The arrows can be utilized by the player character to move the Work Elevator around. It shakes a little and stops moving if it bumps into something, after which it moves in the opposite direction. The Work Elevator reappears at its original position if the player character falls off.
