Scare-ousel is a 4-Player minigame found in Super Mario Party Jamboree. Its name is a combination of "scare" and "carousel," a popular amusement park ride. Alongside its regular 4-Player variant, this minigame has an Endless variant that can be played in Free Play mode in the Minigame Bay, in which high scores can be recorded and compared with other players online.

Introduction

A large carousel at night is shown, before the camera zooms towards the player characters.

Gameplay

The minigame takes place on a large metal carousel. It rotates counterclockwise during the course of the minigame. On the carousel, a small section is occupied by players, with sets of Amps on both sides eliminating any player who touches them. Alongside the ride's rotation pushing players towards the Amps, the ride contains a variety of obstacles that must be avoided in order to survive. These include castle walls that horizontally cover part of the ride as well as sets of three towers that block parts of the center. Additionally, mechanical Chain Chomps appear, starting at the top and eventually lunging towards the bottom of the ride, alongside mechanical Boos that move up or down, either in a wave or separately, covering the entire horizontal section of the ride, and must be jumped over in order to pass. Jumping on other players stuns them temporarily and can be used to reach greater heights. As the minigame progresses, the rotational speed of the carousel increases. The last surviving player, or the players that survive until the time limit's end, wins. If the remaining players are eliminated simultaneously, those players win. In the game's Endless variant, there is no time limit, as the objective is simply to survive as long as possible. Achieving a record of 50 or more seconds in Endless mode is required to unlock the "Eternal Runner" achievement. Like with other Endless minigames, the maximum recorded time is 9:59:99.
