Sunken Mario is the twenty-first sample course in Super Mario Maker. It is set underwater in the Super Mario Bros. theme. It consists of several models of 8-bit Super Mario Bros. sprites.

Layout

Mario starts to the bottom left of a model of his Super Mario Bros. sprite, made of ground, Brick Blocks and ? Blocks. He must swim to get over it. He will come across a few Goombas and a model of an 8-bit Super Mushroom, made of the same blocks as the Mario model, plus Cloud Blocks. One of the ? Blocks in this Mushroom contain a real Super Mushroom. After this is more Goombas and a model of a Super Star, a Coin and a Fire Flower. After these is a very large group of Goombas that Mario must bypass to get to the Goal Pole. These Goombas may prove fruitful if Mario can pass them, as their numbers leave Mario with several 1-Ups once they are defeated upon his touching the flagpole. Hard Blocks encircle the entire level, leaving Mario with little room for swimming.
