The Canned Tuna is a special item in Paper Mario: The Origami King. It is found and collected within Autumn Mountain and is used to attract the Oarsman, trapped in the form of a monkey. It is in a very subtle location, blended in with the other cans on the stack along the lake. Once the lake has been refilled, Mario must hop into the canoe at the dock. When they realize none of them are able to paddle, Olivia notes the monkey nearby. When she approaches him, trying to understand and speak his language, the monkey throws the can at her. Mario must pick it up, revealing it as a useful item. The tuna can only be collected once this dialogue is initiated.

Once the members of the Canned-Food Par-tay Trio have been reunited, Mario must bring the Canned Tuna to the Bone Goomba, who opens it with his teeth as he did the canned ravioli and later, the Canned Heart. The Canned Tuna becomes the Opened Can of Tuna, which must be brought to the monkey, sitting safely atop the Water Vellumental Shrine miniature model northeast of the field. Mario must place it in front of him, luring him down, allowing Mario to hammer him and reveal him as the oarsman.

A Collectible Treasure of Canned Tuna (No. 45) is found in Shogun Studios.
