This is a list of glitches in Diddy Kong Racing. Unless otherwise noted, all names are conjectural.

Glitches

Bluey Challenge glitches

Bluey headstart glitch

In races between the guardians of the Wizpig amulet, the rivals have a headstart, giving the player a disadvantage. However, in the race with Bluey in Bluey Challenge, if the player opens the menu before the course map appears, Bluey will lag, allowing the player to have a fair start in the race.[1]

Bluey Challenge out-of-bounds

In Bluey Challenge, if the player heads to the left side of the starting line and presses R Button on the cliff in front of them while on its slope, they will be out of bounds. If the player jumps off the cliff into the void below, they will be teleported back to the starting line, which is the default location when the game corrects an error like falling out of bounds.[1]

Car speed glitch

Using a car, tapping A Button is slightly faster than holding A Button. Though this speed increase may not be noticeable visually, the player may find winning certain races much easier by performing the glitch.[1]

Hot Top Volcano out-of-bounds

In Hot Top Volcano, the player, using a plane, needs to collect one or two blue Weapon Balloons which give them a speed boost. At some lava, the player should angle the plane downwards, use the speed boost, and Barrel Roll under the lava. If performed correctly, the player will clip out of bounds. The player needs to follow the track loosely for the laps to count, as not doing so will cause the "Wrong Way" error message to appear.[1]

Using this glitch, the player can reach a loading zone under the finish line, that, when entered, sends the player back to Timber's Island. Knowing this, the player can be perform a glitch with the loading zone. When entering the Dino Domain Trophy Race, the game will send the player back to Timber's Island, though pausing the game still shows them in the Trophy Race. Finishing another race will play the cutscene for winning a trophy in Dino Domain, but will actually award them the trophy for the world of the course they just played. The player can repeat the process to collect all of the trophies of every world without needing to complete Silver Coin challenges or boss races, allowing them to access Future Fun Land much earlier than intended. This glitch only occurs on the Version 1.1 of the game, as the game freezes when the player accesses the load zone in the Version 1.0.[1]

When performing this glitch in multiplayer, entering Future Fun Land does not convert the players' vehicles into cars, allowing them to fly over the walls in the world and enter any course without the needed Golden Balloons, including the final Wizpig race, Wizpig Strikes Back.[1]

Timber's Island out-of-bounds

In Timber's Island, the player, using a plane, should fly away from the lighthouse. At a certain distance away, they should turn around and head back to the lighthouse, staying to the left of it. As they approach, they should fly downwards at an approximately 45° angle and perform a Barrel Roll. If performed correctly, the player will clip through the coast surrounding the lighthouse. The player should not accelerate while inside the coast, as they will be pushed back in bounds. Instead, they should allow their plane to glide through the ground until they clip into the nearby cliff. Once inside the cliff, the player can fly over to the entrance to Wizpig's First Strike and enter it without the required Golden Balloons or Wizpig amulet.[1]

Treasure Caves out-of-bounds

In Treasure Caves, at the beginning of the course, the player, using a plane, should head over to the Zipper to the right of the track. They should aim downwards towards the cliff and immediately perform a Barrel Roll to the left. If performed correctly, the player will clip through the cliff and end up out of bounds. Like the Hot Top Volcano out-of-bounds, the player needs to follow the track loosely for the laps to count.[1]

TT stomp glitch

In Future Fun Land, the player is unable to access Wizpig Strikes Back until they collect all Golden Balloons and the pieces of the T.T. amulet. However, they can access this race with the help of T.T.. To perform this glitch, the player needs to lure T.T. to a corner near the world's Trophy Race, which can be done by repeatedly beeping at him, cancelling out of the menu once he talks to them, and moving backwards and slightly forwards. Eventually, T.T. will clip through the wall and end up high above the Trophy Race room, and cancelling out of the menu results in him stomping the player out of bounds. The player can then steer themselves into a red room leading into the final Wizpig race.[1]

This glitch can also be used to access Smokey Challenge early. To perform this version of the glitch, the player needs to lure T.T. in front of the door to the Smokey Castle course and quickly drive to the door to Smokey Challenge. They should beep their horn to get T.T.'s attention, and if they are lucky, T.T. will be placed under their car. Like the previous method, T.T. will stomp the player out of bounds, allowing them to enter the course.[1]

If this glitch is performed in Sherbet Island, T.T. will eventually freeze in place instead of walking away, preventing them from accessing Bubbler Challenge early.[1]

Wizpig Strikes Back out-of-bounds

In Wizpig Strikes Back, at the third bend from the start, the player should collect the blue Weapon Balloon, perform a sharp descent towards the nearby cliff, and boost and Barrel Roll, resulting in them clipping through the cliff and being out of bounds. Like the Hot Top and Treasure Caves out-of-bounds, the player needs loosely follow the track for the laps to count, allowing the player to finish the race in a much faster time.[1]
