Buffaloafer
Template:Species-infobox Buffaloafers[1] are rare enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They are bovine creatures resembling African buffaloes and are only encountered in some levels of Bright Savannah. They wear a red bead necklace and sport a golden ring that pierces their snout.
Buffaloafers are initially found grazing on grass in one place. When they notice the Kongs, Buffaloafers try to attack them by ramming their large, crooked horns into them. The Kongs can simply jump over them to avoid getting rammed, but the enemies will change direction immediately and continue chasing them. If the characters jump on top of a Buffaloafer, the enemy will throw them up in the air, causing them to lose control briefly but without inflicting damage.
When they are lured into a wall, Buffaloafers turn upside-down and reveal their vulnerable bellies, where the Kongs can apply three stomp attacks to defeat them. They can also be turned on their backs if the Kongs collide with a roll attack into their ramming horns. Cranky Kong can perform three Cane Bounces on a Buffaloafer's back to defeat it more directly. The player can also attract the creatures off a ledge, although they will reappear in their inital spot if the Kongs leave their area and return.
Buffaloafers are solitary and can be found in Baobab Bonanza and Rickety Rafters, where they behave the way described above. In Frantic Fields, a Buffaloafer is flown away by the savannah storm and crashes into a wooden bridge, breaking it right in front of the characters.
