Buzz-Bomb
A Buzz-Bomb is a combination of a Bob-omb and a Buzzy Beetle (possibly meant to be a Para-Beetle) that appeared in the Nintendo Adventure Book Monster Mix-Up.
A Buzz-Bomb resembles a regular Bob-omb, though it has a small set of wings sprouting from its back, allowing it to fly somewhat haphazardly. Like a Bob-omb, a Buzz-Bomb will explode after some time, though a Buzz-Bomb's explosion seems more volatile than that of regular Bob-ombs, as it is mentioned that a Buzz-Bomb's explosion obliterated at least forty-seven other creatures. The Buzz-Bomb was created by Bowser and his Monster Mixer.
Similarly, in Super Mario Maker, players can give a Bob-omb wings, thus making it fit the description of a Buzz-Bomb (though its explosion isn't as far-ranged, matching those of normal Bob-ombs).
Trivia
- Buzz-Bomb may be named after the V-1 Buzz bomb, an alternate name for one of the first ever guided missiles, although it is more likely that its name is simply a portmanteau of "Buzzy Beetle" and "Bob-omb".
- Buzz-Bomb's name is also similar to that of the Sonic the Hedgehog enemy Buzz Bomber.
