Golden Plains
Golden Plains

Golden Plains is a stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. It is based on World 1 of New Super Mario Bros. 2 and contains many Coins scattered across the stage, Warp Pipes, and both stationary and moving platforms.

While the stage appears stationary at first, it will scroll in the direction as indicated by an arrow sign that occasionally pops up on-screen. In multiplayer, however, the stage does not scroll, staying in only the first area. The middle section of the stage features three flat platforms side by side, with the center platform and a Warp Pipe raised up. A stationary platform is on the right side of the stage, and two moving platforms are on both sides. On the right portion are two trees on the right side of the stage, two stationary platforms, and a pit. On the left side are two mushroom platforms, a pair of weight-based platforms, and two stationary platforms.

In addition to the yellow Coins that appear and respawn a while after being collected, a P-Switch may also appear and temporarily produce Blue Coins when stepped on, as well as a Red Ring that generates Red Coins, which are worth five Coins each. If 100 Coins are collected, the fighter will turn golden and their attack power is temporarily increased. They also do not flinch, although they are still vulnerable to grabs. While golden, fighters cannot collect coins.

The Final Destination variant of the stage consists of a flat plain with a Warp Pipe on both sides. The stage gimmicks have also been removed; no coins appear during the match, and the stage does not scroll.
