Bowletta
- “My new country has no need for old superstars! It will do just fine with only one: the Great Bowletta!!!”
- —Bowletta, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Bowletta is the fusion between Bowser's body and the spirit of Cackletta, the evil bean witch. Bowletta appears only in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, where she is the main antagonist for the second part of the game, and the game's final boss. After the Mario Bros. beat Cackletta at Woohoo Hooniversity, Fawful, her assistant, sucks up her soul in his headgear to save her life. After days of searching for a body weakened enough for Cackletta to possess, they find King Bowser, unconscious after having been separated from the Mario Bros. by Popple, the shadow thief. Desperate for anyone to control now, Fawful and Cackletta agree to possess Bowser, and Bowletta is born.
Once in her new body, she discovers that Princess Peach and Queen Bean had anticipated her plan to steal the Beanstar and tricked her by disguising Birdo as Peach. Using the Koopa Clown Car, Bowletta soon finds the Mario Bros. in the Little Fungitown immigrant community with Peach. Since Mario is sick from Bean Fever, and Luigi is out trying to cure him, Bowletta is able to kidnap Peach easily. Upon meeting the shocked Luigi during her escape, she states that she is stealing "the real deal" and flees with Peach and Fawful in tow.
When Luigi and the newly cured Mario arrive at Beanbean Castle Town, Bowletta sends them a message from a projector device which informs them that if they want to get Peach back safely, they would need to retrieve the four pieces of the Beanstar and then come back to the castle for further instructions. When the bros. heed this command, Bowletta gives them orders through another such device to march to Joke's End and hand over the bean star in exchange for Peach. Prince Peasely, realising that Bowletta was likely not going to hold her end of the bargain, hands the bros. a fake beanstar and tells them to try to give them the fake instead of the real thing.
However, upon trying to give Fawful the fake beanstar, the plan backfires: Fawful destroys the fake, attacks Luigi, and runs off with the real Beanstar in his Vacuum Helmet. In a last, desperate attempt to save the world and Peach, Mario makes Luigi dress up as Princess Peach, and they manage to trick both villains long enough to both save Peach and (once Luigi is on the barely repaired Koopa Cruiser) retrieve the Beanstar.
Infuriated over the fact that she has now fallen for two tricks which prevented her from utilizing the beanstar, Bowletta flies with Fawful to the Mushroom Kingdom and hijacks Bowser's floating castle in order to besiege the Beanbean kingdom. The Mario Bros. infiltrate the castle, pummel both the Koopalings and Fawful, and eventually face Bowletta herself, where she has 500 HP. This time, Bowletta tricks them by feigning defeat and then proceeds to swallow them whole after a Time Bob-omb knocks the Bros. out. They end up inside her stomach, where the two brothers are revived with 1 HP and quickly enter battle with Cackletta's Soul; upon its defeat, Bowletta is knocked to the ground, mourns over her failure to defeat the bros, and then in permanently turned back into Bowser after Cackletta's Soul disintegrates outside of the Koopa's body, permanently ending the witch's ambition for world rulership.
Appearance
Bowletta retains Cackletta's facial appearance, including her purple eyes, elongated head, massive mouth, and the two pink horn-like object which had adorned her forehead; Bowletta is also slightly larger than Bowser, likely due to how tall Cackletta was in her original body. She has two circles on her chest which appear to be scaly breasts (which is ironic seeing how Bowletta is a reptile). Otherwise, she closely resembles Bowser
Powers and Abilities
Being a fusion of Cackletta's magic and Bowser's brute strength, Bowletta is a formidable enemy. Her main attack is to breath fire, similarly to what Bowser himself would do; however, Bowletta beats Bowser at his own game by having two completely different fire attacks. Bowletta's first such fire attack involves shooting comet-like fireballs: some will need to be jumped over by the bros. and others will turn into Flarets, fireball enemies which can heal Bowletta for 35 HP if she absorbs them. Her second, more damaging fire attack begins with her magically summoning blocks over the brother's heads: the brothers must destroy the blocks by rapidly jumping into them and then prepare to jump over the violent burst of fire that will occur in five seconds after the blocks appeared. Finally, Bowletta can briefly transform into a form called Dark Bowletta: in this form, she summons stars from the sky to hit the bros. Green stars will hit Luigi, red stars will hit Mario, and both stars will harm Bowletta if countered with a hammer; the purple stars which fall with them do not damage anyone.
However, even more menacing than Bowletta herself is what she owns. Not only does she have control over Fawful and her other minions, but the fact that she is possessing Bowser's body gives her control over Bowser's army, his millitary vehicles, his weapons, and even the Koopalings, transforming Bowletta into an outright menace rather than just a beefed up version of Bowser.

Trivia
- If Bowletta was stunned or if her defense was dropped (or both) at the end of the battle, the status effects will show while she is talking afterwards.
